|

please bare with me
was wondering if I can take a style and send out its MIDI data to a midi file via MIDI OUT
and manipulate that midi file once open in something like GARAGEBAND to
have more ease working with it/ having fun with it rather than do it in the PA3x. |

Are you trying to import Style elements into the sequencer as it is, or a midi song that you recorded using a Style? _________________ Sam

simply export a styles midi data to a MAC OS desktop
then insert the midi data into a sequencer
lets say
a midi song recorded using a STYLE
i was really wondering if i could simply click on a style/ play it and have that midi data stream out via midi out as a midi file
I've never created a midi file on the pa3x
is that necessary for this option
thanks so much
forgive my puerile knowledge |

In that case it's a lot easier if you just do this on the PA3x and then export the file and have fun with it in your external sequencer.
It's really easy to record a song using a Style. I don't have a PA4x but it's probably the same as the PA3x:
Quick Record:
Part 1:

Part 2:

Then, save the midi file onto a Flash drive and that's it. This way you don't have to go through the trouble of syncing and such. _________________ Sam

Did you write the song and save it on the USB flash drive? If yes, then just connect the flash drive to the computer and import it into your DAW. _________________ Sam

Don't worry about it! This is a place to ask questions. I have my own all the time as well!
Do you have a different thumb drive? just to see if you're getting that error with the other one as well. _________________ Sam

Yes. You basically have a midi file that has all the information on separate tracks. Once you import the file, it will look just like any other midi file that you've worked on before.
As long as your computer is hooked up (midied) properly to the Keyboard, it will sound the same... as if you used the keyboard itself to playback the file. _________________ Sam

This might be of some help too, in case if you're still learning your way around menus and pages.
