Hi All,

So far very happy with PA4X, but it must be time surely for the Editor to be released?. 6 months down and counting I think it's time is up!

All Pa4x owners are patiently awaiting its release, I cant imagine what the hold up might be and my Korg distributor in the UK told me two weeks ago that release was imminent a fact which Korg Italy seem to be unware of.

Basically the message is Who Knows ?

Could they being "Korg" advise us on the next iteration process and where it is at?

It was the 29:th you wrote that they said "a few weeks" and is of course a vague term, but has gone within a few days or at least another week. Of course there is a risk they just said anything instead of nothing...

Six months is a long wait in anyone's book especially for those who need the Songbook full functionality where they are using or trying to use the Pa4x Professionally. Here we are three weeks on since my Korg Distributor told me that the release was imminent and still no sign of it.

It would be helpful if someone from Korg would converse with us its customers

Yes come on Korg this is not good enough!. I know there have been major changes at Korg out of the hands of Paolo, but if he and many others pass along to Korg that we are very unhappy with the progress, this must surely make them get a giddy up, and make right what now has become a $6k aus$ plus keyboard.

On another tack, I can't believe how much these things have become, and like many others i'm tired of getting burned when it comes to upgrade time!. The new Montage by Yamaha is on its way and the the 6 is being advertised in US $ at $3,500. Now this is way too much for a performance synth.

Lets face it and worth remembering, if I buy a $6k US classic guitar it's almost 100% clear that in 4 years it will be worth more in resale. But because technology is moving so fast and companies such as Korg and Yamaha seem to be in a race to the top when it comes to pricing, i feel they are making guys like me who used to upgrade at least on the second edition of a release think again because frankly i just can't afford it anymore.

So maybe it was time to have the all important hardware (upgradeable) keyboard and synth at an affordable price with scaleable optional software and pricing to match, instead of this fixation with hardware that is way too expensive (take the PAS Speaker system for example), and when an upgrade is possible we have all been priced out of the market place. Maybe that would be a good thing and common sense may come back to the market place.

The old adage is still true the 80/20 rule that is 80% of your business comes from 20% of your clients. If anything Korg and Yamaha need to listen to this, surely before it's too late.

First up I don't happen to think that Paolo should take any heat for the Songbook/Editor still not being available, this is down to the parent company BUT there are a growing number of voices amongst the Pa4x community who are loosing Patience with Korg that this vital piece of software is being withheld.

The Songbook Editor is a Major selling point according to Korg, therefore 6 months after release and with thousands of owners laying down a significant amount of money to buy this instrument, Korg have at their door this Fiasco.

Paolo I know that your only the messenger here, but will Korg be upfront and give us a final answer when this missing piece of the Pa4x software will be made available ??? as clearly many users are now beyond frustrated.

+1000

I don't think Paolo should take any heat for anything really - he has been (and is being) so very supportive to us and is a great resource to have around.

I hope "Korg" supports him and the Italian team a little better.

Cheers

+ 1 Pete Very Happy

You suggest though that maybe Korg Italy could support him a little more, my understanding is that as far as the Songbook Editor is concerned this is down to Korg US and not Korg Italy. If that is the case they should take responsibilty for the non appearance of the songbook editor and to be honest I cannot imagine what the holdup is for a relatatively simple peice of software to run on one platform. I am beginning to form the view that either this task is at the bottom of Korgs to do list or they dont care about their customers. Its fair to say that they have had a significant amount of time to get this out to Pa4x owners and it should have been ready at release !

Yes and clearly it is not Italy that are managing the new Korg Arranger Section website details - there are several things missing (or not latest versions) in the various download (arrangers) sections.
All this information was complete and correct but not now. I am carefully keeping all the downloads for various arranger models (whether I need them or not) to hopefully help owners in the future if required.
I have lost trust in this.

Korg Italy were always "on the ball" - correct links, correct information etc.. etc... - I really miss www.korgpa.com Sad

The Korg arrangers are outstandingly first class and way above anything else on the market - they are the ONLY true professional arrangers and as Sharp has also said, they are a whole lot more than just arrangers - workstations, samplers. sequencers etc... and in fact sit way above many other workstations currently being offered.

I really don't know who is running the "Korg arranger" show now - is it Korg JP or Korg USA?
Great shame - I have nothing but the highest regard for Paolo and his team - it seems like they are being let down right now - hope it improves - come on Korg, you are bigger and better than that - look after these guys and then we'll all sleep easier.

Cheers

+1 Well said!

Sorry to bring this to the top of the list again!. But where is it, this is ridiculous that 9 months after the release we are still waiting for an integral piece of kit to enable organisational control in an efficient way for pro players and the like. Please Korg get this happening, i would have thought that by now we would have it.

It has certainly been a issue for pa4x owners who invested in the product early on and while it would not effect my dececision to buy the pa4x it does show Korg in a bad light to think its clients should be messed around like this.
