I know this thread has gone from reporting a problem to prepare your gigs but I just wanna add that I have had my Pa4x for less then a month and has experienced the same startup hangup, but in my case I could swith it off and on again...

There's something seriously wrong here. Definitely not an isolated problem....

I confirm it is a known bug, depending from the MP3 audio output routing. The OS resolving this issue is on the way (just being absolutely sure all the gremlins are safely chained up).

To prevent this from happening, until the release of the new OS, always route the MP3 to the main outputs.

There we have it, Paolo has cleared my mind ( PHEW ! )

To be honest since delivery in mid December my Pa4x is sat in the studio and has been booted EVERY day, sometimes several times a day, BUT so far mine has not produced this issue, but now we know there is a bug and how that bug is created we can avoid it !

My only wonder here is that the guys trying the Pa4x in the shop had this issue and could someone have re routed the mp3 outputs ? They must have !

Thanks Paolo for letting us all know, its much appreciated Smile Smile

Thanks Paolo,

Thank god for you here on the forum. My next question is gathering that buyers are probably not going to upgrade as urgently as they have in the past because of cost restrictions, should Korg and Yamaha be looking at some form of early adopter program for future releases or indeed a major lowering of prices to a more sustainable level. I guess that companies would look at numbers sold to assess whether the marketplace has decided that a product is too expensive or not, my worry is when that happens say the next time a product is released, we all manufacturers and purchasers will suffer a real hit because the companies will be reluctant to R&D the product to make it way better each time.

Or could we go the way that Roland went (but didn't do it properly) and have component card upgrades for our products, making upgrades much more affordable. As commented on previously, I always was able to purchase upgrade keyboards with the second iteration of release but the 4X is probably the last time I will be able to do it , and although I don't want you to divulge any secrets, It would be interesting to get your take on this in a friendly way to the insight of a company in the market place?.

And once again, thanks Paolo so much for your reassurance re the update matters.

Ok I lost my night Thank you KORG... So I need to pay the organizer because I was the only instrument player of the night... Sad

If you are a pro then you ALWAYS must have a backup. You never know when someone is going to drop your keyboard, or spill a drink in it or any number of things that can happen when you are moving your keyboard(s) to venues.

Be Prepared.

Yep Dude, I have PA800 Backup. But, before I go to another city, I tried my program and played with the keyboard about 90 minutes. I didnt copy, didnt load anything to keyboard even didnt change any setting. Everything was OK.

But there I got a surprise from KORG and they postponed the program to another day and I will pay penalty.

I saw a post that PAOLO helped someone with private message, I would like to get that message too...
I don't understand this post. You say the re was problem with the Keyboard and that KORG postponed the prog and YOU paid a penalty?? It doesnt make sense.
