I am wanting to hook my Triton Studio up to my MacBook Pro. Is there a way to do this? Fairly new to this, so I appreciate the patience...

It depends on what you want to do with the MacBook Pro.

1. The MBP's audio line in input can be used to record audio from the Triton Studio with suitable recording software running on the Mac. An audio cable will be needed to connect between the Triton's R and L/Mono outputs and the line-in input on the MBP.

2. If the Triton Studio has the EXB-mLAN option fitted, then a Firewire cable could be used to connect between the two devices. This would allow MIDI data to be exchanged between the Triton and MBP.

3. Using a separate MIDI interface connected to one of the MBP's USB ports and suitable standard MIDI cables between the interface and the Triton, would allow MIDI data to be exchanged between the Triton Studio and MBP. This would allow MIDI note and other information to be sent from the Triton to the MBP and from the MBP to the Triton. MIDI note information typically contains note-on and note-off events, the note value of key being struck, and how hard it is struck (velocity) and other information such as damper pedal, pitch bend and modulation control information and much more. This could be recorded on the Mac and then played back on the Triton using suitable sequencer software. The Triton could also be used as a MIDI controller in order to play software instruments and synths (e.g. VSTs) installed on the Mac.
