Hi All-
I want to use my NanoKontrol2 as a blank set of knobs, sliders and buttons, which I can map as I want and need in each session. It's easy enough to override the auto mapping it has with the DAWs I use (Reason & Live). However, I get tired of having half the controller contain my mappings, while the other unused knobs/sliders control random parameters that I don't want to manipulate.

Is there a way to wipe those auto mappings clean? Is there a file buried somewhere on my Mac that will allow the NanoKontrol to have no mapping when I plug it in to Reason or Live?

There are 2 possible drivers that you may or may not have, depending if you installed them or not when you first got your NanoK2.

The drivers would Usually be Installed at;
/Library/Audio/MIDI Drivers/KorgUSBMIDIDriver.plugin (vs. 1.2.1)
/System/Library/Extensions/advKorgUSBMIDIDriver.plugin (vs. 1.2.1 (r4))
At least they were once here on my iMac with El Capitan installed.

I found that my NanoK2 worked better since I uninstalled them.
I use Logic Pro X here and I forget specifically why I uninstalled them.

Also, my Logic Pro X App. creates a file called “com.apple.logic.pro.cs”
which is at ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.logic.pro.cs
This file holds the info needed to control the Nano.
It can be deleted but will automatically be recreated by Logic.

The Nano itself, upon power up, seems to do some kind of auto-setup of it’s own, even without the drivers being installed. I am not sure if it syncs with the OSX or Logic but I seem to have full normal control using it without the drivers (8 tracks group at a time) and stop/start/record buttons all work OK, even the faders & knobs too, as well as mute/solo/record arm.
It could be that Reason or Live creates it’s own file like Logic does.

Then, there is a Korg Editor, in which you can program your own stuff too.
I tried it out once but it’s deep stuff.
The Korg Kontrol Editor vs 1.3.0.3. It’s here in the Korg Support page where the drivers are under software..

If you can override all the settings and Reason & Live ‘remembers’ your settings, what more control do you want ?
If you can find that corresponding “.cs” file and delete it, it may help, but I would just put it in a safe place in case you want to put it back later.
