Hi,
Apologies if this is a simple problem to resolve, but i'm very new to the midi world!

I am trying to use my MicroKorg XL as a master clock, sending clock data to a midi thru-hub, connected to other synthesisers. The problem I have, is any notes played on the Korg are also played on the other synths. I have a live set up that relies on synchronised synths and sequencers, but I only want them to share clock data and stay in time with one another!

Please please could someone tell me:
A) How to stop note information being sent and playing on other synths connected via midi
B) How do I transmit ONLY the clock info from the Korg.

I'm sure this is an easy fix if you know how, but I'm totally clueless.

Many thanks,
Meziah01

Hi,

A) You can unfortunately not stop the XL from sending note data. You can have a look at the settings of the other connected synths, whether they have a MIDI filter to disable the receive of notes. But IMHO that is rare feqture (e.g. Korg Volcas have it).
B) See the first part of the answer under A.

The easiest way out is that you change the MIDI channel on your XL so that it mismatches the other connected synths. The XL will still send the notes, but the receiving synths will ignore them and not play them.

Have fun.
