Hello,

I just bought a good Bolder Sounds Bank (the Celtic one, to be exact).
Some samples are programed to be played at a high velocity (about 100, 110, 120).
As I didn't hear that sounds even with a big hit on keys, I went to the Program Osc/Pitch page. Here, at the right side, is a moving bargraph showing the velocity level with wich you are playing the key.
And, I was surprised to see the bargraph never reaching the level 127 and barely the level 100.

I remember some keyboards having the ability to calibrate the velocity.

So my question is : is it possible with the Korg Kronos ?

Thanks a lot.

If you search the forums here regarding max velocity, you'll find it's a known issue not being able to reach max velocity. I cannot reach 127 on my Kronos 61 normally.

But you should be able to reach 100 and 110, and even 120. Perhaps setting the velocity curve to 3 in the GLOBAL menu may work for you? That setting will allow you to reach higher velocities without using as much force as on the default setting of 4.

In fact a velocity of 6 can reach 120 but on the bad side, it's impossible to play soft !!

It's incredible to see that this issue in known for years and Korg never solve it !

The solution would be easy. In the next update, Korg should offer the possibility to program a User-defined Velocity Curve in Global Mode.
