Im hoping someone can help me find a solution for my problem. I want to use my Korg Kronos 2 with the Editor for working in my DAW... i have the latest Firmware, Drivers and Editor. But it wont pick up my Kronos in the Editor. It keeps saying Global Editor has no sysex.. and when i press autosense it says that "no compatible kronos is detected" even though everything is hooked up. Also something im noticing is that on midi out it shows Kronos 1 but on midi in its showing Touch OSC bridge. and gives me no options for switching that to Kronos.. Please. I'm even willing to pay to get this up and running. Thank you all in advance

Sounds like either the editor is not picking up the Kronos MIDI IN Port correctly.

In the Editor under the MIDI menu you can select the MIDI IN port manually.

If the MIDI IN port for the Kronos is not displaying then you may have more MIDI ports active than Windows wishes to enumerate. I can't remember the exact number it can handle.

Check if the Kronos MIDI IN is in that menu and if not we can trouble shoot from there.

Thank you for the reply! When I try to set it up manually the Kronos midi in does not show up. Just touch osc bridge

Well that is no good at all.

In haste, as I need to be somewhere else In the windows start menu under Korg you should find a utility along the lines of Configure Korg USB-MIDI Driver. If you run that take a look at the Device List that comes up. If I recall correctly you should be able to check if there are any available midi ports and possibly reassign them so the Korg driver gets midi in.

That is about all I can think of off the top of my head.

Cheers

Are you using the standalone version of the editor or the VST version? The latter only supports 32 bit DAWs.

Two guesses:
1. Windows has run out of MIDI ports availability due to other ports existing (or not uninstalling correctly).
2. One or other of the 32 or 64 bit drivers is disabled.

It's probably the first. I thought there was a utility in the korg folder for checking this but can't find it right now

anyone else?

I'm guessing it's the first one too. But how to check that and make sure Kronos gets a spot. Man I could use the help whenever you are available

Okay I think i found it:
http://www.korguser.net/html/Installation%20Manual/English/Installation%20Manual.HTM

Whilst that is an old link you can go to Program files/korg/uninstdrv,exe

This will list all the midi ports and assigned driver for all of them...

see how you go.
