|
|
I did my day trip to Singapore yesterday and picked up my new Korg pa4x 76.
Pros.
1. It was considerably cheaper in Singapore than Vietnam.
2. The was a tax refund of SGD230 (USD165) which made it even cheaper and
covered the cost of the flight (USD140) and taxi fare to and from the airport.
3. There were no 76 key models available in Vietnam.
4. The shop had a promo and were giving a free stand and Korg pedal.
Cons.
1. Getting up at 0400 for the 2 hour bus ride to the airport in Saigon.
2. Having to be at the airport 2 hours in advance.
3. The flight was delayed 55 minutes with us stuck in the plane was what should
be a 2 hour flight was a three hour trapped in the plane event.
3. The weight and size of the arranger in its packing carton.
4. Getting a taxi in Singapore who would agree to take me back to the airport
with this big carton.
5. The 2 hour bus trip back to Vung Tau city after getting out of the airport.
6. Arriving home at 2230 too tired to unpack the keyboard.
7. Unpacking it all this morning an being overwhelmed by its complexity.
So I just sat to have a play through the KORG DVD that came with it and it won't play on my iMac. OUCH!!!!
Does anyone have any ideas why?
Ive got a long period of learning ahead of me but it should be great fun.
Cheers to all on the Forum who gave me helpful advice and encouragement.
Kind regards,
John |

Hi Baccus,
What can I say. It's an amazing piece of equipment but it's more complex than I gathered from watching guys on YouTube playing. They make it look so easy. I'm trying to transfer my beginner piano ability to the Korg.
But I cant keep the smile off my face at the incredible sounds it makes.
I've just hooked it up to my Audio Engine speakers but the headphone sound is so much better.
Learning learning learning.
Cheers,
John |

Hi John as regards to your monitors/speakers have you tried using the MAXX AUDIO EQ ? This may help, also do you have your monitors position in a nearfield configuration? This could help as well, if you would like some of my personal MAXX AUDIO presets to help and start you going I can PM some across to you _________________ Korg PA5X-76 : Yamaha Montage M8x : Roland Jupiter 80 : Waldorf STVC : Roland Integra 7 : Waldorf Streichfett : Focal Trio6 ST6 : Studio Outboards/RME Audio Interface/A&H SQ Mixer :

Hi D575,
Many thank for the help.
Yes indeed I would appreciate how to set up Maxx though to be honest I haven't even figured out how to access Maxx yet.
I've just started trying to figure out which os in on my instrument.
It's all so daunting but heaps of fun.
Many thanks I will look foraward to your settings.
Kind regards,
John |

One thing is for sure John, reading what you went through to get the Pa4X, I have no doubt that you have the perseverance to master it in time. Good luck. _________________ pa4x
