Plus Ed Sheeran is doing the interview.

I really liked that but sadly it seems like it will be way out of my price range.

I'm all over this one. I've really become enamored with wavetable synthesis, - which , of course, Waldorf will have - but something they didn't talk about in this interview was that you can sample something and then add a single cycle of it to the wavetable. (Not the granular synthesis they were discussing...) Adding that to the VA stuff, the ROMpler stuff, the Granular stuff, and the existing wavetable stuff really interests me.

It will be a little pricey - est. price will be about $3000.00 - but then, flagships are always expensive.

It takes a kind of Kronos approach, but Korg takes an everyday player's approach to appeal more to the general market, and the Quantum moves into more of a synthesist geek's world, whilst still supplying the bread and butter sounds, though I doubt it'll have many AP, EP., and organ sounds in it.

..Joe

Yes, I think this will be great compliment to a Kronos, at least for my desires. It hits all the boxes of things I would like more of or don't have. And it is a larger keyed, don't get me wrong I like the Arp and Minilogue but this is full sized which to me is always nice and more then 4 octaves but physically it doesn't look overly large and although I believe they said the on board keyed does not support poly aftertouch it is supported from a keyed that supports it, enter a Roli! I hope it sticks apron for awhile after its release because I would like one but realistically I am years upon years away from buying.

I am a fan of Waldorf. A big fan. (see my sig).
Yup, it will have wavetables for sure, it's a Waldorf after all. I hope they are different this time from the PPG waves they keep giving us.
I will own one from new. Might take a few more months to pay off my latest car, but once that is done, I'm putting the same money I spent on the car into a new Quantum. I almost bought a Sledge when the 2.0 was released as it was he closest thing to a full-blown Waldorf synth since the Q. The Blofeld is great but lacks the knobs needed to make it a complete Waldorf synthesiser.
The Quantum is what old Wave owners were asking for when the Q was released. Let's hope the OS is finished and the bugs are minimal this time....

I was also going to go for an OB6 at one time but decided to go for the plugin instead. OP-x Pro2. I am quite happy with it. Maybe it would fulfill you OB desires then you could hold off for this Quantum. Just a thought. OB-X Pro2 I really enjoy this one.

I understand completely, if you are taking a vote i vote OB6. I mean I really like the Waldorf but I love the OB6. And as good as that plugin is it just isn't the same as the hardware under your hands!

Two very different synths really. I'd love to add an Oberheim to my sounds, but I'm just too much of a Waldorf addict.
