Hi Lika, As a newcomer to Korg and the very happy owner of a new Pa4X it would appear to me that the answer is as simple as.... highlighting the song automatically selects it. No further need for Select button?

Maybe they did it because selecting it is much easier now in Pa4x:
When the Entry you are looking for appears in the display, touch it to assign (you need no separate button).
After choosing the Entry, its name will appear just under the title bar
next to the name of the associated Style or Song. The name of the Entry in
the list will appear highlighted.

It's also easier to press another Entry by mistake while srawling songbook's list.
That select button was a secure button for us,next song was standby and we just had to press the select button exacktly the right time we wanted... and we also had time even to change on the fly the starting Variations or intros....Now many times i do that mistake,to chose the next song at the wrong time or chose another Entry during searching the style i wanted,sometimes even while trying to wipe the screen ....No good at all.
Another annoying thing is that when you exit ''set list'' /songbook ,and go back to style mode ,and then you want to turn back again to sonkbook,you have to press ''set list'' again .....why? it should stay either to book or Set list ,depending where you left it last time,right?

Also Tap Button shouldnt be near Fade out/in button....it should be near Fills and break button not even between them,better place should be next to break or after endings and buttons 'synchro start and stop'' to move after START/STOP red button.More practical to have tap near anytime you work on fills and variations....

Hi again .
I don't care about hardware changes , because for those can be do nothing for now , but with software they can do change ....
I , and not only me , will move up to korg pa4x (1000/700) if some simple thins will be re-add ....

Hi .
I will say , if korg developers don't want to lock like " lost " of us , just can do two tap ( tap twice ) for select/play song .... In list mode and to first page of songbook ....

Hello. Someone find how to bring the "select" button back ?
It drives me crazy without it...I found an alternative, but it's not 100% as good as select button.
in Search mode - songbook list...there is a select button, but you don't have playlists.
I like to arm the song before i play it...sometimes i made kind of mix, and there is no way to choose another song on stage. Select button was precious for me. |

There is no setting, that would allow the user activate (or bring back) "SELECT" button

Not having the SELECT button (on screen) is a really dumb idea. I use the song book all the time. I always make make custom lists for my gigs but a lot of times, the audience requests (in written) some other songs and I can always scroll and highlight the song the audience requests and and hit SELECT at the appropriate time. This keeps the music FLOWING.
the is the main reason for not upgrading to PA4X.

I understand the change from the PA3X regarding the SONGBOOK "select" soft button but now you only have to "select" once instead of twice - I personally find this better and faster - same as SETLIST selection.
(Just my personal view...  )

| For me also is really unsecured and annoying to use songbook without select button. Sometime i hit wrong entry and you can't cancel it with second tap on the right one. It would be nice to add option in global for select button on/off, so everyone will be satisfied. Also, is this a reason for selecting is pretty much slower on pa4x than pa3x before, without preselect? |
