We can only hope it is a competitor and not another re-hash.

Very Happy

Is this called Genos, because it's totally a different and separate product...meaning the Tyros line will still be in production?

Is this a Tyros/Montage hybrid?

Yes it is totally new arranger. Tyros won't have it's successor.
Yamaha finally gAve touch screen 10 inch I think. The instrument is narrower.
It posses 6 encoders and long sliders on the left hand side.

Interesting and I hope so because the faded teaser picture of it in the UK video shows the same old screen surrounded by buttons.
At about 0:22 into this video:- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7CHSbw6zpRU&feature=youtu.be

Can't wait to see what they've really done.... Very Happy

Yes will be interesting to see if the PA4X is about to get some real competition or will the anticipation be more exciting than the end result.... should this New keyboard (Genos?) be able to keep the same company and pedigree as the PA4X then some Gold fillings may find there way to auction because the PA4X is a keeper for me, which will mean this New Arranger being sneaked in the house at 3am in the morning some how(!) Laughing

PLEASE let me know if you figure out a safe way of doing that Wink
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

By the way, the Genos has got to have at least the following for me be interested (This is based on my experience with my own Tyros):-
    Tempo lock
Bass inversion in the control surface
Intelligent chord fingering like PA4X "Fingered (1 note)" - Audya and Roland and Korg always has this
More control over SA and less "automation"
    Touch screen
Intelligent "registrations" like SONGBOOK - no more "banks and numbers"
    Performance set list feature
    76-note option
    NO built-in speakers
    Balanced audio ports
Vastly improved OS for performance and recording.
Really good quality styles - typically they have been awesome in the intros and endings only

I already like its sounds and drawbar organs

Here's hoping I might end up with 2 arrangers (you NEVER heard me say that Wink )

Pete Very Happy

Ok Pete... covert plans are being drawn up now if this operation takes place I will forward the plans to you my fellow comrade via pigeon...yes i said pigeon worked very well in WW2...this shouldn't take too long to get to you in your neck of the woods and the reason for this Manor of exchange is.... as she who must be obeyed is becoming quite good with PC tec these days and one wouldn't want to leave any incriminating evidence behind... I will send x3 duplicate pigeons just in case one gets shot down and finds its way on a dinner plate somewhere as they travel over the many countries to get to you and if you get caught by the lady of the house your end then it's imperative that you never mention my name under interrogation..... now back to the PA4X as I have a particularly difficult assignment as there has been a request for the theme music from "Doctor Who" which is proving tricky indeed...over and out Very Happy

Hi,

For many years (as one of the older generation) I have been a subscriber to the only magazine (that I know) of it's type left in the U.K. called 'Organ and Keyboard Cavalcade'. This name goes back to the 70's and is admittedly a little dated but it is what it is (and it's still going) !!
The magazine owners organise festivals three or four weeks a year at both Blackpool and Great Yarmouth (Seacroft) and are normally full. The keyboard Manufacturers place such importance on these Festivals that Yamaha actually launched their Tyros 5 keyboard at Seacroft some four years ago. I was present to see Martin Harris show the keyboard for the very first time. Seeing Martin Harris play live is an incredible experience that should not to be missed. He is the 'main man' at Yamaha, spending at least half his year in Japan on product development. He will have decided what goes into the new Genos (and also what does not).

The Genos is being launched to the dealers on the 19th September in Germany. There is a festival at Seacroft (G.Yarmouth) for one week starting 18th September. It's virtually guaranteed that at some stage during that week the Genos will be shown to the Seacroft guests and I would not be surprised if Martin Harris appears at the launch. If not, it will be shown by Ian House.

What normally follows is a U.K. whistlestop tour whereby Ian House will cover the South of England and another top musician will cover the North.

Chris

Use translator module which is placed on the right site of above page (it is called: Translate Website)

Above proves that the video presents existed Genos.
For us people who love Korg pa series such new keyboard is a good sign for the future.
Future successor of Korg pa4x won't stay behind.
