Well, there is some truth in this.. not soundwise.. the Genos will sound incredible
But where most of the pa4x manuall is about edditing things... you can barely edit any sound on the Genos... that requires computer programs and offline mode _________________ Korg Kronos 2/88 , Genos, Mainstage3 +VSTsu, ipad pro, GSi Gemini, Roland Integra 7, Jupiter Xm, Yamaha motif XS rack, Ketron SD90.

I have Montage & korg PA4X (Genos could be a contender pending some time playing and studying which is all personal preference)... So i feel to say most important of all is the positive effects of playing or creating Music with whatever type of keyboard we may have and that is what matters most of all... So who ever you are or wherever your background with music you maybe from and with out diminishing anybody... then the instruments we use are just the vehicles to get us to that destination and both Concepts mentioned here together or on their own are great ways to do that ... Music is the language of the Universe ((((A@424hz)))) and the language of music can cross many barriers and that is what this world needs more than ever to save us from are self.......Great forum _________________ Korg PA5X-76 : Yamaha Montage M8x : Roland Jupiter 80 : Waldorf STVC : Roland Integra 7 : Waldorf Streichfett : Focal Trio6 ST6 : Studio Outboards/RME Audio Interface/A&H SQ Mixer : |

Does anyone know if Genos has the equivalent of smooth sound transition like the Kronos and, I believe, Montage? _________________ My Music: www.youtube.com/Halunlimited

From the demos I've seen and heard so far, I wouldn't want to exchange my PA4X with a Genos, even when I received some money on the trade, so to speak.
Let alone adding about 2000 euros is a real joke.
Genos sounds OK, and some sounds are even quite impressive, but the overall instrument is not my cup of tea.
PA4X can withstand this competition without any problem. _________________ Musical grtz, Frans

i have the same feeling, there was one thing that was really nice and is not on the pa4x, the four pads can be used to trigger custom samples, like vocals.
but soundwise i didn't hear any surprises yet. The round robin drum sample per hit is a nice feature but not a real gamechanger. |

This is not accurate , Pads in PaSeries can be treated as style tracks and can be assigned to any custom samples (or time sliced samples)
via custom SOUNDS of 24 OSC that is definately the proper way to create any variety of 24 simultaneous custom samples per Pad
even using WS modeling ... this is "huge power" !
24 layers drum elements including round-robin per layer is an innovation though ! Drums features are significant asset for arrangers !
Pa4X Sound engine is the leader in arrangers but PaSeries DK interface is somehow outdated and needs improvement ! _________________ Music Conductor - Sound Engineer & Developer - Automotive SMPS/RF R&D - Electronics Engineer

Hi Australia!!! We have a Genos price:- AUD6,999
(Example:- see http://www.bettermusic.com.au/yamaha-genos )
YES, you get change from $7,000.
So (1 x Genos) = 1 x (PA4X-76 + $2,000)

Genos will be judged and compared with Pa4X , only when advanced edit manual will be released that will show us
user accessibility in editing features of sound engine , nothing else matters for me ...
Yamaha had always better factory sound libraries (but still poor for my development level) so as I had previously
mentioned the equation will be always the same : Pa3X vs Tyros 5 = Pa4X vs Genos = next models ...
I won't defend Yamaha but regardless of what Genos arranger engine provides , I want to remind you that Yamaha
manufacture electronics and rarely use Chinese/Hong Kong third party manufacturers for PCB and ICs and in that
case even the double price is justified ! (for real "made in Japan" labels lovers ) _________________ Music Conductor - Sound Engineer & Developer - Automotive SMPS/RF R&D - Electronics Engineer

Call Frank @ Audioworks to get your real price for the Genos. All other prices are MAP, which are the minimum advertised price set by Yamaha.

Yes I know Frank...I've bought keys from him multiple times.
It doesn't matter what the street price is. That doesn't change the price difference between the Pa4x and Genos. You can almost get two Pa4x for the price. That's just ridicuouls unless....it's made out of Gold? _________________ Sam
