Hi all,
I recently updated to v 2.1 and saved previous version of song book and all to USB then reinstalled it. However my old stuff was not there and for weeks I have been gutted about loosing my favourite songs.

However a few hours ago I went into GLOBAL/MEDIA and there was the above that I am talking about. So does that mean I still have it and can I restore it ? Noted all of the bottom tabs but are nervous about doing anything until I speak to you first.

To get my old stuff back, that I thought was lost forever, would really make my day. Fingers crossed that you will give me good news.

Regards

Dylan

Hi Dylan

Maybe (just "maybe") you were accidentally looking in the wrong place before - the "save" on the PA4X defaults to saving to the "DISK" (the internal 1GB flash) - have you checked there?

ANYHOW, if you can see it, then it's there Very Happy - there's no harm in loading it (you could perform a new full "save" first (save all) if you are paranoid like me Wink )

Let us know how you go.

Hi,

Unknown to me my saved SONGBOOK, STYLES, FAVOURITES STYLES and USER STYLES are saved to DISC. Yes that is why I could not find them.

Bottom buttons are OPEN, CLOSE, LOAD, SAVE and COPY.

So what do I need to do please. I don't want to overwrite anything or mess up again. Can I get it into DIRECT and if so how ?

Can I use old SONGBOOK straight from DISC and if so how ?

Please help because the old stuff is excellent. And yes I am paranoid about messing up again.

Take care,

Dylan

Hi Dylan

Now that you've found it on the "DISK" media...
Insert a USB flash drive
go into MEDIA mode
Select "copy" tab on screen
Make sure the bottom left is displaying DISK as your media
You should see your SET on the screen
Highlight it and press "copy to"
Now make sure the bottom left is showing USB drive (if not, select it from the drop-down" menu)
Press "Copy" and that SET will now be copied and then be on your internal DISK and your USB
Remove the USB
If you want to you could create a new SET (save all) on the DISK and then....
... load the "missing" SET from the DISK media knowing that you have a safe copy on USB etc....

Hope this works out for you.

Thanks Pete,

I understand so far but still don't know how to get and use SONGBOOK and other stuff (prior to v2) so that I can actually see them and play them. They are on "DISC" as you know

Pete I just want to see and play previous SONGBOOK and the other stuff without overwriting new stuff from v2.

So how can saving from "DISC" to USB allow me to PLAY the stuff that I saved before v2. (now on DISC). I think that I am missing something.

Summing up can I keep v2 Songbook and all and use previous version now on DISC. Copying to USB leaves me puzzled ? What do I do then Pete ?

Don't want to overwrite things as I said.

Thanks for your time Pete

Dylan

Hi Pete,

Have copied all data from DISC to USB like you said.

Moving on, when in DISC, what happens when I select an item and press LOAD. Where will it go to ? Where will I find it ?

And will it overwrite the latest 2,0 version.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks Pete.

This will load all your USER data (STYLES (FAVORITE too),SOUNDS,KEYBOARD SETS,GLOBAL SETTINGS,SONGBOOK etc etc....

No, not at all. It will load in everything at the time when the SET was created (saved)
Version 2 OS and all factory data will remain unchanged - only USER data is loaded (as listed above)

Cheers
