Hey all, new to the forum and also new to the Korg D3200. So far I love the unit, bought it at a great price used however, I am having some difficulties with it.
First off, I can't write anything to a DVD-RW out of the package unless I put system files on it and then erase or quick format. The format currently on it when purchased is recognizable on PC, but not on the unit. Once I place system files on it, then erase it, it will be recognized or if I do a full format, I can recognize it for backing up system, or writing a song to it. Once finalized, it is recognized on the unit as an audio CD. So basically, the default format is not recognizable on the unit, but is on PC. If I format it on the unit with a full format, it is recognizable on the PC until something is written to it, even after being finalized, it is no longer recognizable on the PC.

The other problem I have is I can't for the life of me get to the position where I can export the audio files. When I click the track button, and try to export, it won't let me click on the PC drive or the CD player as an option.

I have gone through the processes as outlined in the manual, but I am missing something and can't figure it out.

Any help would be amazing!!

Also, when I put a song on it with disc at once, I then try to export from the cd but the format is not recognized.

Is that a typo? The D3200 can only handle CDs, not DVDs. "Erase" only works for rewritable CDs. You don't have to format CDs.

Also optical drives wear out. The machine is quite old and depending on how heavily it was used you might have to replace the writer. Technically that is easy, but you'd have to find an old one that still uses EDI (PATA) Interface. I've read reports, that even DVD Writers work as a replacement - though of course you still can't write DVDs with the D3200, only CDs.

From the track edit screen you have to export your tracks to the "clipboard" first. Don't forget to hit "execute"! Then you switch to the export screen. There you can use the clipboard as a source to export your tracks to CD or the PC-Drive partition of your HDD.

I had a similar problem and I couldn't solve it on my own, so I called a specialist and he solved it for me. If we talk about a recording studio, I want to make my attic into a home recording studio. Can you give me some advice and tell me what is the set of musical instruments and equipment I need in order to do this? I plan to record my album to show it to music producers in LA next year. I already have an electronic piano, an electric guitar, and Korg D3200. I need to know what else is missing to complete this list and get a high-quality sound.
