to make room for vintage keys 1-4. I have a really good idea how to do this but I wanna make sure before I make changes to the Kronos. I use German Grand mostly hardly use Berlin just my preference.
If anyone can list order of steps on deleting Berlin Grand but I wanna keep it later in case I wanna load the samples that I have now in my Kronos.
I know how to load samples into Kronos as I have purchased before but I haven't needed memory until now and the Berlin is probably my best option. I wanna keep the exact library now with the Berlin for future use maybe.
I just need to delete the Berlin Grand so I can make room for these new samples.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,

As I can guess , you have loaded those vintage keys in Ram mode and not in streaming mode _user.KSC !
It's almost impossible 3-4 low cost libraries to consume more than 300 Mb of Ram in streaming mode ...
WavesArt Vintage Keyboards Suite that has double resources http://wavesart.eu/KronosEXs/Vintage%20Keyboards%20Suite.html
consumes only 185 Mb of Ram in streaming mode !
Ask your library provider to explain you of what to load and you need to do nothing else ...
Hope this helps _________________ Music Conductor - Sound Engineer & Developer - Automotive SMPS/RF R&D - Electronics Engineer

As I wrote in PM , you can't delete Berlin (or any factory Kronos 2 resources) only to unload it and save modified Preload.KSC

I know it's probably after the fact for this thread, but I don't totally agree. You can't delete the samples in ROM...yes, but the Berlin is an installable EXs, and if the folder is "unlocked" first, it can be deleted, and the relevant folders cleaned up. I've done this to make room for new stuff frequently, in customising my own mix of programs/combis etc. _________________ The companions I can't live without: Kawai Acoustic Grand, Kawai MP11SE, Yamaha Montage8, Korg D1

Just to add, I mean you can uninstall the Berlin, and then delete the remaining folders _________________ The companions I can't live without: Kawai Acoustic Grand, Kawai MP11SE, Yamaha Montage8, Korg D1

EXs that are by default factory libraries like EXs 1,2,9... can't be uninstalled , just unloaded , Kronos 2 has EXs 17 & 18
as factory shipped so I guessed that their names were not included in uninstalling menu like all other Korg store trial EXs !
So you don't have to agree or disagree , if anyone owns Kronos 2 , select "uninstalling" EXs , and if you can see EXs 17 there
then you can uninstall/delete Berlin , although I do not find a good reason to do that if you have enough free space in boot SSD.
Deleting HD small folders of EXs doesn't mean that you have deleted GBs of bin files in PCM system folder of boot SSD that
you do not have access and the only function that does it , is "uninstall" library ! _________________ Music Conductor - Sound Engineer & Developer - Automotive SMPS/RF R&D - Electronics Engineer

Antony,
Re reading the thread, I don't disagree with your point. I think the correct language and terms of reference probably play a big part in aligning our thought.
Having said that, when replying last time I still had the topic of the op in my mind, and continued with that train of thought. In actual fact, yes I don't uninstall the installed sample files from the SSD, as you state, this is unnecessary with enough disk space. What I do, is remove the sample references from the ksc as you stated, so as to free up RAM, and then remove the program's referencing to these.
in any case, with reference to miscommunication, I did assume you knew what you were talking about and I knew what I was doing too _________________ The companions I can't live without: Kawai Acoustic Grand, Kawai MP11SE, Yamaha Montage8, Korg D1

Discussion is always useful , for instance I didn't know that Kronos 2 had just licensed EXs 17 & 18 and that you can uninstall them !!!
I have K2 in studio and never tried that since the whole work has been prepared in K-X !
Korg didn't even try to ensemble new EXs to factory status , just used the Korg store products with licenses and edited Preload.KSC ... _________________ Music Conductor - Sound Engineer & Developer - Automotive SMPS/RF R&D - Electronics Engineer
