Hi.
Big thank you to Korg for more great styles. I totally agree with many comments about new styles being more important than a new O.S. which brings me to the point of my post. How can I put numerous styles from various sets on to one set so that I can use it as a direct set with 64 styles available? There is probably a simple answer but I just blame my age. Any help appreciated. Thanks Rob _________________ PA1xpro/Korg O1w fd/pa4x76 Roland rd800 pk5 bass pedals and numerous useless amps mixers and othe bits of junk from the past |

Hi Rob
If you use all the banks in your DIRECT SET you will be able to access 500+ styles plus you could consider using the factory style banks if all your internal USER/FAVORITE banks are full - we are talking about a LOT of styles here - so, your PA4X has the ability to access 1200+ styles instantly (excluding factory) by just having one DIRECT set assigned.
To set this up:-
Backup (save all) everything!!!! (e.g. call this ROB.SET)
Start loading all the styles you need and gradually fill up all the USER and FAVORITE banks (internal) - remember you can load styles individually or a bank at a time by using the OPEN screen-button
When finished, save everything (all) as a NEW set which will become your DIRECT SET (e.g. call this ROBDIRECT.SET).
Load in your original saved SET (ROB.SET)
Now browse and assign your ROBDIRECT.SET as your DIRECT access set
Hope this helps

Thanks Pete.
So obvious when it's explained to me. Your help is invaluable. Many thanks.

My pleasure Rob
The last time I was in Birmingham I bought my very first arranger keyboard - it was a Casio MT45 - had no idea what those black keys were for in those days - still not sure
Cheers

Hi Rob
YES!! Full circle eh!!!
My new Casio MZ is in fact, excellent - it would be stupid of me to compare it to my PA4X which is in a different class altogether.
But, it is a great workstation with some fantastic features including being an arranger too with nice playable styles.
The "Hex-layer" feature is superb - layering up to 6 tones in one sound and managing them with sliders and then on top of that you can have 4 hex-layers layered (24 tones layered) - and what's more, it works!!! The sounds themselves are very nice and certainly performance quality.
I love the fact that when you save a favourite set up (registration) it saves everything like EQ settings, pedal settings etc..etc... (would like that on my PA4X!!!)
All in all it is fantastic value for money and a very usable and "different" keyboard. it is a sampler too and its 16 assignable pads are amazing for chords, sounds, samples, phrases, drums etc... etc...
Nice touch screen, sequencer, MIDI recording, audio (wav) recording...even plays Yamaha styles, B3/Leslie emulation (with 9 drawbars!), many in-depth editing features - the list goes on and on.
It is a great addition to my gear and I didn't need a 2nd mortgage to buy it.
I currently use it for "composing" ideas and playing around with sound creation - it is light and easy to move around and has the in-built speakers which are surprisingly good and with a nice bass response.
Sorry, I'm sounding like a Casio sales rep
BUT - it is seriously great & great fun.
Cheers
