Hi guys,
New PA4X user here..Do you guys have a tutorial on how to change or edit the bass line of factory style? I tried to copy a style from factory to user and erase the existing bass line and record with my own bass line/note. then write it to empty user slot but after i exit the recording it still sound like factory preset style with the original bass line...anyone can help please... [/b]
You have probably more chance getting this answered in the pa4x forum..
Its unclear to me why this would not work..
Probably did not save right.. _________________ Korg Kronos 2/88 , Genos, Mainstage3 +VSTsu, ipad pro, GSi Gemini, Roland Integra 7, Jupiter Xm, Yamaha motif XS rack, Ketron SD90.

did you select the correct bass track? The track circle in bass should be red during record mode on the screen.
here's a video from Korg that shows the complete process.
This is a new style, but you can do the same for editing just one element of a style (or even mix style elements between styles via the copy from style command)
From memory . When you are in style recording mode you will notice that there are several chord variations in the style called CV1 right through to CV6 . You probably need to delete those also . You need to then record your bassline again probably in Cm . You don’t need to play the bassline as you have recorded it following the chord progression you played in your left hand at the start of the clip as the keyboard should track the chord progression . If that doesn’t work come back again and I will try it on mine when I am back home .

Thanks @Worth
Yes I think thats the main problem there.the lambada style has all the variations from intro up to ending as well as chord variations.erasing all of them solved my problem.
Thank you so much guys! _________________ My Gear:Korg PA4X-76 / Roland Ax-synth /Yamaha MM6
you only changed the bassline in the video from CV1 - Var 1
If you want to use only this bassline for all chord variations you should remap the chord variations in the style. This is easy to do by executing the following steps:
- when in record mode press the menu button
- press the button on the screen called: Chord Table and Variation
- set everything on the screen to CV1
That's all, now all chords will play the bassline you just entered.
Also i see that you leave the record mode to try out the edits you make, this is not nessecary. There is a trick that not many people know to test your style in record mode by executing the following steps:
- press the menu button
- press the button on the screen called: style track controls
- press the play button
- now you can use the style as usual including your edits to try them out before saving.
Now some theory:
- your bassline for chord varation 1 will work in your example because you explicitely play a 1 - 5 bassline. If your bassline is more complex then you should at least add a bassline for major scales and one for minor scales. Then in the chord table variation page you can assign those two basslines to the correct chord mappings, this helps to get the correct more complex bassline in the right scale of major and minor. Of course a 1 - 5 bassline will work for both scales.
Hope this helps you a little bit in understanding how the pa4x works in style edit mode.
