Is it possible to control the Kronos sequencer ( start/ stop ) remotely ?
I’m wanting to start our live stage show from backstage as the intro track is in the sequencer and I don’t want to “sneak” on and start it manually.

good question.

There is no remote or wireless blue tooth or RF to make that happen.

I can convince my cat to crawl on my K and step on the " start/stop " button.
But thats not going to help you Wink

Setting up foot switch to start and stop Kronos is possible. Global mode foot switch settings.
Not sure how long the foot switch cable can be before it starts to have issues getting signal across.

Maybe with fancy usb midi equipment that allows wireless control of kronos, but that is something i know little about other than it being possible.

Foot switch is straight forward and maybe try a long extension chord for the foot switch line to reach where you need it. Not sure how kronos does start/stop, but i send a start/stop message to kronos via a foot switch plugged into an external device that allows the signal to start and stop the devices and reset them to beginning every time it stops.
It also allows me to set start/stop signal to start and stop the devices without resetting the sequence to the beginning every time it stops.

Another way of doing it would be to insert a (say) five-minute blank section at the start of your intro track. That way, you could discreetly set it running as you are doing your final checks and then disappear off stage. Five minutes later, your intro music starts...

Another option depending on how desperate you are.....

It's possible to write an App for your phone that connects over Bluetooth to an Arduino to do all this. I built a system last Christmas for a client who wanted to remotely control various equipment using this method remotely.

Crazy enough, it worked far better than anyone ever expected. Seems you can do all sorts of funky things with Arduino's.

Regards
Sharp.

Well, you could also assign a control change to Start/Stop using Function Assign, and contriol this via MIDI.

How about using the Kronos Remote App on an iPad?

https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/kronos-remote/id1185334677?mt=8

It can connect via bluetooth or long USB cable.
