After switching my Extreme on, there is no sound even after loading everything from the CF card. The audio comes back after about 15 mins, but all the while it fades in while sounding distorted. After this, there is not issues all night. Does anyone know a resolve for this please.

Chris

The Triton Extreme is getting on now, and the audio fade is most likely due to component ageing. It will need a bit of electronics know how to get to the source of the issue.

Quite a few products from the turn of the century are now having issues with electrolytic capacitor leakage, so this would be one area to concentrate on. Also consider component areas that tend to run hot, especially those that take around 15 mins to reach operating temperature. Freezer spray could be used to narrow down the problem. The vacuum tube occasionally needs replacement. The diagnosis of a failing tube would be reached if only Programs and Combis that used the tube overdrive effect were affected. Interboard connectors and audio jacks will oxidise over time. Wiggling and reseating the audio jacks and internal connectors may help in this case. Check power supplies; the supply voltages can be measured with a meter, but measuring the output ripple with an scope can be useful.
