Best to go ask on the Kronos Performers group on FB - you'd probably have an answer within minutes or hours. I have no idea why this forum is so dead and why there appears to be no users or support for any of Korg's products... |

I am not totally clear on ' how' you would like to
use the ribbon as expression control in combi?
To use an expression pedal to control ribbon:
Global/Controller[P2]
See " foot pedal assign"
click > See a choice of CC #'s and the corresponding control types.
you want CC #16, " ribbon"
Go back to your Combi
Select Midi Filter 1. Of the 16 midi instruments, check or uncheck ' how ' you want to enable use of Ribbon
If you like what you hear, go back to Global and Write the pedal change - Basic Setup - upper right hand corner is that menu.
There are other ways to do this. Other folks who have custom requirements have other techniques. Give them a day or 2 , assuming they have time this week _________________ Kronos 88. MODX8

By expression do you mean like the expression pedal and an organ where you are controlling the volume? Or something else? You can set this up in program mode. Whatever aspect of the sound you want to control you use the AMS to set the ribbon as the controller and you can even dial in the amount. _________________ "To me the synthesizer was always a source of new sounds that musicians could use to expand the range of possibilities for making music."

Although there are a few good Kronos users on the Facebook groups, I think it is largely comprised of hobbyists. Seems like a lot of people going there has absolutely no idea of what kind of machine they have. You are better off sticking here, as some of the admins here are more closely related to Korg, even if they don't work for Korg. Also, in the future might I suggest that if you have some serious technical issues that you contact Korg directly. This lets them know if there are actual issues that they need to deal with. Trying to get people here on the forums to solve your problem doesn't make things any better for other people having the same issue. Hold the manufacturers feet to the fire I always say. _________________ "To me the synthesizer was always a source of new sounds that musicians could use to expand the range of possibilities for making music."
