Hi all! I'm about to pull the trigger on this monologue machine however i would love to know if someone use it integrated with a workstation for live uses. I plan to use it for leads mainly, with its sound going to my Kross 2 and performance controlled with a keytar.
I would like to know about program changes, how seamless are they, and about power issues: if disconnected do it pop or die silently?
Regards,
JJ

I love my Monologue .. I love the sound, the usability, the playability.. But I'm experiencing a latency when MIDI sync'd into my live rig, and I've not yet been able to solve it.

Assuming you mean switching between two programs/sequences while playing for variability like you can on the Volcas; that is possible, but there are many more caveats than with those Volcas...

You can only switch one program up/down at a time, no arbitrary jumping possible. You need to store the programs that you want to switch between all while they're playing, otherwise when you switch, the Monologue halts on the sequence that was not stored while playing. You need to have the BPMs aligned, as the tempo is stored for each program and not global. You need to make sure that both programs have the same number of steps and active steps, otherwise swing will wreak havoc. Also, settings are stored per program, so you can get jags on LFO, EG and what not.. And I'm sure this list is not exhaustive...

In my view it's more bother than it's worth..

Besides, the Monologue sequencer is so flexible while live playing that you can add variability by enabling/disabling steps/motions/slides etc..
