Hi All,

First time poster here Smile.

i recently bought myself a new korg pa4x and learning how to use the keyboard.

However, i would like to use velocity to play two different sounds depending on how hard to press the keys in style play mode, not in sound mode.

For example, when I play the gitar sound and then when I press harder, brass to be played.

Thanks for your help!.

Hey, and welcome to Korg Forums and congratulations on getting the world's best arranger keyboard Very Happy

Yes you can achieve this - there are a few ways but here is the simplest:-

Firstly you will need to understand Style play mode.

1. An easy way is to select the 2 sounds (e.g. Guitar & Brass) and assign each to an UPPER sound (e.g. UPPER 1 & 2)
2. Press MENU button>>Keyboard/Ensemble page and select the "Range Velocity" tab (at bottom)
3. Now you can set individual velocity ranges for each of the STYLE's UPPER sounds
4. When you are happy with the result, write a new SONGBOOK entry and all will be remembered for the next time you use it.

See page 118 in the latest User Manual for this.

Other more involved ways would be to actually edit the SOUNDs themselves by modifying their velocity ranges or maybe even creating a single SOUND with separate oscillators for guitars and brass (velocity controlled) - these will of course actually change the sounds themselves.

Hope this helps

Cheers

Pete Very Happy
