This is turning into an interesting thread.
My initial thought is "that does sound tedious."
My second thought is that it's probably not all that tedious, if internal resampling was something I'd done much of, and really had a process flow down for.
Anyone have thoughts on the best approach for resampling an internal synth? Would it be to record a sequence of each individual note in SEQ, then use time slicing to split them up? Record each note individually? Split them into ranges of a half octave or so and sample only the bottom note? |
As I explore other synth forums, I learn a lot of techniques and factoids that I would not get from this forum. Here's something I heard about:
Sample Robot or Mainstage's auto sampler are probably good bets for sampling a Kronos synth then bringing it back in as a multisample to be used in an HD-1 program. They will auto-play your synth at various velocity levels and up the whole keyboard range so that you can get a good base of multisamples. |

The original poster then followed up and realized that portamento was not supported on the Korg PolySix. End of story. Yes you can plug it into other synth and use all the parameters you mentioned, but portamento is not achievable. So what was the point of cluttering up this thread. Might have been better to start a new thread. That would be a major help for people whose search the threads for specific topics. Having to wade through a thread like this to find out what they are looking for is not available could be a real pain in the butt. Not trying to be a jerk here, just trying to make these forms a little bit easier to use for everyone. I will admit that I even went off topic a little bit. Please accept my apologies. |
Sorry but I don't see where the problem is !
We all discuss a subject : portamento on Polysix. Rightly, some said there is no Portamento. One of the big interest of the Kronos is to often offer several solutions to one point.
So, that's what I did : trying to use a former trick and applying it to that subject.
Righty, Charles noted that my trick doesn't work. And I mentionned this trick is working for another purpose.
That's all ! Where is the point here ?
Perhaps, someone will read this thread, and will be interesting in some information. Why not ?
But, on your end, perhaps you have some ideas to put forward ? |
