When I load one combi patch N56 and play something which includes midi driven sound, the whole keyboard stops playing and locks on that patch. I have to shut off the keyboard in order to get it working again. Any suggestions?

By MIDI driven sound, does this mean an external MIDI source, or using the internal Sequencer?

It could be that the MIDI data stream is too "dense" and complex for the Triton to fully respond, leading to the lock-up.

One thing worth trying is to reload the Combi (thought there isn't a Combi numbered N56), in case it has become corrupted. See the "Loading the preload data" section in the Triton Basic Guide, and use the onscreen Open button to drill down through the Combi structure to find Combi in question, and load just that one.

.

By midi driven, I mean that I use my piano to trigger some of the sounds in the combi while using the triton keyboard for others - something I do with lots of my own combi patches. For some bizarre reason, this patch causes the whole triton to freeze. It's just odd. I also haven't done an os update. I wonder if that's part of the problem
