PAD 1 -4
Wish to add wav or MP3 loop playback by load or import as DIRECT file from HDD or KORG DISC storage.

simplify work without sound record load - import create sample save ...

Skip all this.

Play directly from HDD as well as MP3 in song play mode

Adding at least one MIDI channel beside an mp3 file to control external TC-Helikon or any other MIDI device (BPM tempo, DMX control, etc ...)

A more quick and easy way to access all the parameters needed for splits and layers

FX, the key ranges, velocity sensitive, pedal assign, EQ, etc. Also, the possibility to choose whether we'd like all the insert FX to the sounds, or the styles and sound.

So far the Pa4X is really orientated towards quick way to regulate styles and songs in real time, but not so much for the sounds in real time

This is the bread and butter. All the companies are now being more focused trying to regulate the sounds in real time

Very Happy

The best would be an alternative view on the screen where you can choose what parameters you want to be shown / edited!! Even better assign them to sliders too!

I wish Korg would "steal" a feature from Ketron.
A Ketron Registration does not "point" to styles and sounds, etc. It actually remembers everything, including text.
You can take a USB with your Registrations and play it on any modern Ketron and everything works great. The sounds, styles, lyrics, settings...are all stored in the Registrations.
This would make it possible to use your Songbook on newer, or different, models without worrying about locations. Great feature!

Good idea. On the other hand, if you improve a sound that you use in several songs, then you have to report the improvement in each song.
The ideal would be to be able to choose for each songbook entry if you point to a sound or if it is copied.

Great suggestions

Really hope they'll work out on a great 4.0 version

Just as what Kurzweil has been doing. They've been working for months to bring their Forte V4 OS, with smooth sounds transitions and many other features. According to inside guys, they've been tested a lot to release a bug free OS

That's easy to get around. You just open the Registration and set everything up for a new registration and save it. You can change what you want. If you want the same sound it is saved.

That's true, but you have to do that for every song that uses that sound. There may not be many, but the longest thing is to find them and not forget any of them.

Sound mode allowing to split and layer 2 sounds per part

That's

2 Upper 1
2 Upper 2
2 Upper 3
2 Lower

With diving into zones, so you can have, for instance, up to 6 sounds on the upper parts (1 + 2 + 3) or 3 different split parts, each one with up to 2 sounds. I.e Upper 1. 2 sounds. From, let's say, you select G6 to G7. Upper 2, with other 2 sounds, selected from G4 to F6. And so on

Also, with the assign A and B, 2 FX for each section. A total of 8 that you can quick regulate.

Can't believe that, with more than 1,700 sounds we can only have up to 4 of them, and just one insert FX and only 2 master FX !!!!

There's so, so much potential that still needs to explore and materialize.

Don't Roland have basically the same thing simply by having ALL data on a USB stick? Isn't that the easier solution, plus a lot more data efficient (if every song that uses a single style needs a copy of the style data, songbook entries that use audio styles would quickly fill an HD, wouldn't they?)? B.Safe makes a good point about the added complexity needed for the system if it needs to keep track of every single songbook entry that uses a sound or style, to be able to automatically offer you the option of keeping or replacing all your songbook entries with updated styles or sounds...

I think, if the need is to optimize sitting in on a different Korg arranger using nothing more than your songbook, having ALL data on a stick allows the same functionality with less complexity. Not to mention that, as usual, migrating to either a lesser or newer model arranger, you are still at the mercy of whether the basic sounds (the sound ROM) are all present in the new arranger. Old models always have fewer sounds, new arrangers often don't have complete backwards compatibility with sounds.

But if simply playing on the same model arranger somewhere else, if Korg had ALL data on a high speed USB stick, it is child's play to simply plug in your stick and go... All your sounds, lyrics, styles, whatever, would be in exactly the same place they are on your own! And without the complexity of having duplicate files for everything.

All the other arrangers, Roland, Yamaha and Ketron, can read anything on the USB stick directly, without jumping through hoops such as setting up a Direct Folder.
