thought i'd drop this here...
i was looking for a simple sample chopper, so i thought i'd have a looksee if
there were any freeware editors for mpc500 etc. and lo and behold, we have:
http://mpcmaid.sourceforge.net/
it is Java, so you'll have to install that. don't think that's a big deal for security now ?
if you ignore the MPC pad assign pages, there is a 'slicer' with beat detection,
which is fast, simple, and exports individual wavs. it wants 16bit waves, mono or stereo,
will not deal with 24bit, and although it reads *.aiff, doesn't do much with them.
no fade out, and rudimentary key commands, but it works, and could be
very useful for dealing with the chore of producing small samples and kits.
i have a big library of samples onboard at the moment, and was just chucking
stuff into the slicer, very promising. |
