is there a source for Samples that the Korg Pa4x will recognize
for Lead guitars. I recall AKAI had samples for its sampler.
Are users basically using the factory GUITAR sounds which i think are quite bad. compared to TYROS 5.
my 2nd question is can i import a sampled electric guitar into the KORG Pa4x
from 3rd party software samples and if so where on line would i find them?
thank you all so much for your guidance and advice
very well appreciated

Sorry no one has replied to your Guitar question. The PA4x has the needed sound engine to produce a very good Electric Guitar. Unfortunately, Korg doesn't seem to see the need for one except when they're creating styles. There are some very good ones on channels 12-16 but they're accomplished by using effects at a very low level. Be cautious if you run across something like Dynamix Audio's 3 guitar pack. I believe they are dry samples and it's up to you to add the necessary effects. They are very good "DRY SAMPLES" but then it's all up to you. Sorry I don't have a better solution. _________________ PA4x, PA500, NI Komplete Kontrol S88 MK2, Sonar Platinum, Ableton Live 10 Standard, NI Komplete12 Ultimate, EWQL Libraries, Nektar Impact LX88, Focusrite Scarlett 6i6 Gen2, Studiologic MP-117 Pedalboard |

You can find Sample for the Korg Kronos or any Korg keyboard with the .KSC / .KSF wave format. There are several programs on the market (Sample Converter & Chicken Systems Translator), which will also convert other formats to Korg Format samples which then can be used to create programs/sounds/samples for the Pa4x Pro. _________________ Pa5x, Yamaha Genos, ForeScore |

Just as an alternative, perhaps try looking for good CLEAN guitar samples for Les Paul’s, Stratocasters, Telecasters ES335’s etc., then try running them through the amp simulator FX. I think you will find that far superior to distorted samples...
Part of the sound of an overdriven guitar comes from the different amounts of distortion and intermodulation each different interval and velocity level creates, something that is frozen in place when you use a sample of a distorted guitar. |

I am not sure exactly what type of lead guitar sound you are looking for. Are you looking for searing leads? Some examples of the type of leads that you want would be very helpful.
I have the PA700, but all of the stock programs on the PA700 are in the PA4X (I believe). In particular, there is a sound that I use for leads called Crunch Gtr DNC. I have custom effects on it that give it a searing lead tone, but there are a lot of dynamics in it.
The DNC really helps with the expressiveness of the sound, as are the settings of the EFX.
Here is the link to a song that features that sound as the lead -
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MOmde1_fpDc
Articulating the sound is just as important as the sound itself and the EFX settings.
Grace,

the guitar samples in 4x are dry so you can run them through the fx try the amp sims and cabs . ALSO tru for bass sounds. they sound a million times better through the bass amp sim and cab fx _________________ 4x |

Hi Harry,
I'm trying to create the guitar searing lead sound like your demo on the Youtube link but couldn't even come close. Did you do your custom effect setting on Sound Mode or in Style/Performance Mode that gives it a searing lead tone?
If you don't mind sharing the name of the Amp simulator FX from the keyboard list you've used for that lead sound.
Thanks.
