Hello all. I have been on this forum since 2004 and I think I may be the oldest (78 ). I always wait until others have tried the new stuff to see if they have problems, etc. So after reading several responses on the new OS3, I've decided to try to install it this coming Saturday. Please bear with me if I come on this forum with questions if I get stuck. We had a heck of a time installing OS2. Hope things go better with this install. Thanks _________________ PA4X & PA900

Sorry, I've got you beat.
The new OS has been stable for me. My advice is this; Follow the EXACT instructions. Don't take any short cuts; do exactly what they say to do!!! Which means back it up! _________________ Pa5x, Yamaha Genos, ForeScore |

Thanks for the note. I assume you mean you've been on the forum longer than me. Because the way my body feels, no one is older than me. Now to the install. I assume the EXACT instructions are posted somewhere on a Korg PA4 page? _________________ PA4X & PA900

Chuck
I am just 2 old fingers younger than you. And installing the new operating system as you know your backup first and if you follow the instructions that core gives you it'll work fine I did it had no problems at all but I only kept it for two days to experiment with so I did not find all the bugs in it.
I did like the new screen it looks neater and cleaner and like Korg says things pop out at you the only trouble was you can't read the screen everything is become smaller and at my age I do not wear glasses I'm lucky there but when I use operating system v3 I need 2 pair glasses, and is highly unlikely that they will fix much more in version 3,, the new PA5x will be coming out. Remember you can always go back to OS/2 once you find out there's very few things have been added that make it worth the get the work do the update play some music..
