Anyone had success getting Songbook Editor v3 working with their PA 700?

Songbook Editor sees my 700 but only an Empty Temp folder.

V3 is supposed to be functional with the 4X, 1000 and 700.

The next Webinar is about Songbook Editor hence I am keen to get it up and running on my Laptop.

I don't really understand your question.

The Songbook Editor doesn't work with the PA700 (or the PA1000 or the PA4x either). You must first save the data from the keyboard to a .SET folder and then use a USB memory stick to transfer the .SET folder to your PC. You can then open the .SET folder using the Songbook Editor, make whatever changes you require, and then save the data back to the .SET folder. After transferring the updated .SET folder back to the keyboard, you can open the .SET folder as the Direct folder, or Load the data from the .SET folder, overwriting the data currently in the keyboard.

If you prefer, you can use Media - USB to give your PC access to the keyboard disk (or SD card if you have installed one) and edit the .SET folder directly on the keyboard. You will still need to load the updated .SET folder back into the keyboard once you have finished editing.

If your Songbook entries are based on User styles, make sure you include the User Styles in the .SET folder so that Songbook Editor can display the names of the Styles correctly, and if you have customised any of the Factory styles you should include those Styles in the .SET folder too. In practice, I tend to turn off protection of Factory data, and Save All to my .SET folder, but then load just the updated Songbook back to the keyboard at the end of the editing process.

I have not (yet) made extensive changes to my Songbook using the Editor software, but I have successfully re-ordered the Set Lists, and also made a number of minor changes/corrections to the names of several Songbook entries, along with a few other edits. I have not yet found anything to suggest that the Editor does not work in accordance with the manual supplied with the software, which describes the process quite adequately.

Hope this helps.....

I'm not quite sure why you've posted the quote from the Korg website.

Perhaps I should have said "The Songbook Editor doesn't work with the PA700 directly. It does however understand the format of .SET folders created using PA4X, PA1000 and PA700. "

You must save the data from your keyboard (whether PA4X, PA1000 or PA700) to a .SET folder, and then open the .SET folder using Songbook Editor on a Windows PC.

I suggest that you read the manual that is supplied with the Songbook Editor software, which describes the operation quite clearly.

It is now sorted, it was a Windows problem that I have now sorted.

I have saved the standard Songbook as Songbook2.set and Songbook Editor has seen and loaded the file.
