|
|
Hi
I have started to get more into the Korg PA4x, and want to start to create my own Set Lists direct from my USB stick where most of the Styles I play are stored.
Can any kind person help me to set up this list, as I find it hard to understand the Manual, any help would be grateful.
Thank you

Hey Ronnie
How are you?
Firstly, are you using SONGBOOK?
If so you are already 90% done.
Let me know....

Hello Pete
Nice to hear again from you.
You ask do I use Songbook, No is the answer..although I have it on Keyboard with the Osimo loaded, I fail to use Songbook.
I was hoping that I could load The great Song Styles that are on my USB stick into Set List to use as my loaded Favourite songs to play instead of searching for the song styles in the USB.
If it is not possible to do this then I understand.
Hope you Pete are in good health and that the Band you play in are enjoying yourselves.
Well from Ireland to Oz take care
Regards

Hey Ronnie
SONGBOOK, SONGBOOK, SONGBOOK is your best friend here.....
You definitely need to use and understand SONGBOOK in order to take advantage of the SETLIST feature.
The PA4X OS is designed around SONGBOOK and so is well worth learning and using.
SETLIST relies on there being SONGBOOK entries.
PA4X SETLIST is fantastic - real and useful setlist features for full keyboard registrations - not the awful old fashioned "registration banks and numbers" like on other arrangers - it really is superb.
Let me know how you wish to proceed.
Cheers

Hi Pete
I thought that I could save Styles from USB direct into Set list.
I never use the Songbook as I feel the Styles dont suit my type of Songs.
I Do not know how to Save my styles from my USB into the Songbook ,then into Set List......... I tried to read the Manual but fail to understand how to follow up on using the transfer from USB.
Thanks Pete for your time
regards

Hi Ronnie
It seems from your posts above that you have a DIRECT set that you use from USB (just confirming)
OK
Firstly SONGBOOK is purely a list of "keyboard registrations"
So typically you might decide on a particualr song e.g:-
you select the style
you select the INTRO/VAR
you select the keyboard-set (sounds) you want to play
you select/change STYLE sounds' volumes/panning etc. etc....
select the tempo
select the transpose (perhaps)
etc...etc...
and now you're ready to play the song
Just before you start playing, you can get the PA4X to remember exactly how you've set up this song by creating a SONGBOOK entry - you can do this by simply holding down the SONGBOOK button which will take you into the screen to save the new SONGBOOK entry.
In summary, SONGBOOK does not "contain" any styles or sounds - it merely "points" to styles and sounds and other options you've chosen.
Once you've created some SONGBOOK entries - now meaning that you have a few songs you can instantly set up by just selecting the SONGBOOK entry - you can now create a SET-LIST of SONGBOOK entries - create a new SET-LIST and then selectively add the SONGBOOK entries you want in that list - you can change the song order within the SET-LIST too if required.
A SET-LIST is just a list of SONGBOOK entries.
All the styles and sounds remain and unchanged in your PA4X
So if you set up a nice song in SONGBOOK and at some stage you actually moved the STYLE that it used to a different bank, then the SONGBOOK entry will no longer point to the correct style
You can create a SONGBOOK entry to register any style (DIRECT or not) plus all the other keyboard settings....
Hope this helps
SET-LIST=a selection of SONGBOOK entries
SONGBOOK entry selects and sets up your keyboard ready for a SONG to play
SONGBOOK entries and SET-LISTS can be changed and/or deleted if required.
I cannot emphasise enough the importance of SONGBOOK
Hope this helps

Hi Pete
Sorry for delay replying to you, off line few days.
I am still unsure about loading my song styles into Songbook
Have tried understand the write up in the manual. But fail to execute transfer into Songbook.
Am having fun using Korg PA4x. Was not sure at time of purchase.
Regards

Hi Ronnie
You cannot "load" styles into SONGBOOK
SONGBOOK is just "keyboard registrations" enabling you to re-call an entire keyboard setup for a song.
I'll send you a detailed example to try in a PM and then you should see what I'm saying.
It might be just a few days before I can do it as I am working away at present.
Send me a song and style you might use for it and I'll use that as an example for you to try.
Cheers
