Hi,

I'm currently using PA4X, but in the past I've had the whole range from PA1X Pro. In between, I used the Yamaho S770 for a good half a year. Because I use rhythms relatively little, I switched back to Korg because of SongBook (iPad) compatibility. It is also much more to my liking as it has an open system as opposed to Yamaha, which is a very, very closed system.

All these years, however, I have been struck by the realization that the rhythm section at Yamaha is much better. Transitions between harmonies are much smoother, but even when switching between variations, this is practically imperceptible. Unfortunately, this is not the case with Korg. Maybe I'm just wrong, or I missed some setting.

This is also one of the reasons why I prefer to work with mp3.
I am interested in your opinion and experience. Maybe a small suggestion to

Korg to take a step forward in this area.

Hi,

I almost can't believe it. Don't have any thoughts on this topic? What was your experience? I wonder what you think about that? Maybe I'm wrong?

I've experienced my self the lack of smooth transition in Korg Pa series.
There is a topic that we talk also about the smooth transition if you keep reading to the almost bottom of the page, here is some reading about Smooth Transition in Korg Pa series.

Hope that helps and it's related with your topic.

If you are referring to the "harmonies" created with the "ensemble" feature, then I agree - Korg has had a problem with this since the i-series.
It is just on those odd occasions when you change chord and simultaneously play "the note" (with ensemble ON) that you'll only get a part of the harmony or maybe none.
Yes, Yamaha doesn't have this problem.

If, however, your are referring to vocal harmonies, then I must admit I have had no problems with any of my Korgs and would have to say that my Yamahas (PSR and Tyros) were sold off for their terrible and unrealistic vocal harmonies (as well as for other reasons) - hey, just my experiences and requirements. Very Happy

(P.S. I didn't think you were referring to Smooth Sound Transitions (SST) like Kronos, but if you were, the PA5X or later is your only hope!!!!)

Pete Very Happy

Just copy/past from other post:

...Note : I do not have to mention that you can't sustain a playing note when changing a sound ,
this multi-timbral sound transition is not supported in PaSeries only on Kronos.
