I can't figure out how to edit a Program Voice that comes pre-packaged with a drum track in order to turn down the volume of the drums. Is this possible? |

Drum kits can be edited in Global mode with the Drum-Kit Sample-Setup.
That allows you to edit each instrument in the kit with its own level/volume
and velocity.
If you want to uniformly alter the volume of the entire kit in the program, then you can do it in Drum track which has a virtual volume slider for the drum program there.
Or in the program page of the drum program itself, maybe the Amp/EQ page. |

Press the TIMBRE/TRACK button (near top-left of the mixer).
The first three MIX - PLAY/MUTE buttons will light up.
Sliders 1, 2, and 3 are the volumes for Oscillator 1, Osc 2, and Drum Kit. Pull down slider 3 to your preference. Press SAVE if you want to keep the new level. |

The Control Surface on the Kronos is pretty flexible. I had forgotten that Drum Track level was already pre-assigned to slider 3.
Another option is to also just go to the Drum Track tab, and set the Volume there. But the Control Surface method is more immediate and more flexible. |

Go to the Drum Track tab and set the volume there. You can edit globally with a sample drum set. But the control surface method is faster and more flexible. If you want to evenly change the volume of the entire kit in the program, try the alesis surge mesh kit. This is the best option of all. This allows you to edit each instrument in the set with its own velocity, volume and level. I use the latter, for me it is much easier than the others. Just don't overdo it, because you might ruin the sound and have to start over. |
