Use your computer and copy all CD contents in a fast USB thumb drive formatted in Pa4X , this is the right way of external resources usage !
Also try to avoid connecting any USB powered device in your Pa4X USB port ! _________________ Music Conductor - Sound Engineer & Developer - Automotive SMPS/RF R&D - Electronics Engineer

Strange thing because they both have the same USB2 ports which is enough to power some CD even Floppy drives (just tested it on the 4x) but i have noticed that most midi devices require USB3 to have sufficient power. There may be a minimum of power to disk R/W speed ratio to have it be compatible. Either way i would not recommend using a CD/DVD for storage because it is even less reliable than a SD card when it comes to read errors _________________ Ari Pearl Music

Hmmmm.. interesting - I backup my entire HDD directly to an external HDD (via USB) with no problems and can read CDs OK

Hi,
I use the front USB port to connect an LG USB slim CD/DVD player. No problem at all. Works perfectly.
