Hi,
Just pulled the 01/WFD out of storage after a long hiatus.
Wondering if there are any MacBook based sound libraries around?
Or, is there really any support for such an oldie?
I guess the question is: is it worth trying to use the 01 in this modern age or am I better off trying to get into something more easily supported?
Thanks. |

Yes, it works just fine.
Had to replace the internal battery, but other than that she works well.
I guess there's the question of whether I should just use it as a oontroller for software based sound libraries? If they exist?
Been out of the game for so long that I'm just trying to determine if the software based libraries are even a thing? |

The 01/W has quite a following, and is highly regarded; see elsewhere on this forum. It could be put to good use controlling software synths and the like, via a USB to MIDI converter. The key mechanism on the keyboards from this era just seem to keep on going, requiring relatively little maintenance.

This is true. The only problem I have had with my 01/WFD is a sticky key. |

Korg used Yamaha keybeds back then. The model from the DX7. They are indeed excellent keybeds and seem to last forever. My KX76 is still plugging along some 30-odd years down the road.
