I recently bought Volca Sample and Volca Bass. I can't sync them. When I start sample (master) the bass does not start. I have to press "play" ... I tried to insert a jack in the sync in of the sample: in this way by pressing the play buttons of both and removing this auxiliary cable, the two machines start in sync, but if I stop the sample , unfortunately the bass continues to stay in play ... I don't know how to do it ... who helps me ??? Thanks!!!!

That's how it's supposed to work. Sync signals do not carry start/stop commands, only tempo (clock) information. You'd need to use MIDI sync in order to do that and Volcas do not come with MIDI Out ports as standard, to allow them to be used as a MIDI sync master (unless modded, which is not that difficult).
Bottom line: you need to do a MIDI Out mod to the Sample if you want them to start/stop at the same time.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I tried to set an OP-Z as midi master out, from here to the Sample and Bass. Obviously the start impulse only works on one machine at a time, that is, where I enter with the midi, while the other does not ... Maybe I need a retrokits module...

Start/stop commands always simultaneously affect all connected devices over MIDI by default, as long as the equipment is properly connected and configured. It can even be a nuisance sometimes, as there are situations when people don't want everything to start/stop at the same time.

For this to work, you would need a MIDI splitter and connect both Volca slaves in parallel to the OP-Z master. If you hook them up like that, you don't need the sync cable between the Volcas.
