All,

Has anyone else seen this? If I use a spectrum display on my DAWs, Kronos seems to exhibit a constant spike at around 20KHz.

Digital output is (not surprisingly) OK.

I've tried a USB opto-isolator, but no difference. Any thoughts?

Yeah, I see the same thing when I connect the Kronos to my Focusrite Clarret 8pre and then into the MacBook.

It is outside the audible spectrum* though and very low** so I just ignore it Smile

*) I have two peaks, one at ~15kHz and one at ~20kHz, and while cats and dogs might be annoyed at that, the average human will not. Surely not if they are above 15-20 years of age at least. 15kHz is debatable of course.. I can hear that faintly, but see next point.

**) I measure mine at about -90dB, which is really low.. so it while it does show on the logarithmic scales, it is not something one can pick out. Working with a noise floor of perhaps -60-70dB, some high-frequent noise at -90dB is acceptable.

I'm thinking for studio work - don't use on-board delays and reverbs, then use a noise gate on Kronos inputs.

Still irks though.

If Kronos would work with multiple sample-rates, it probably wouldn't be as much of an issue.

I'm not seeing a 15KHz spike btw. Just the 20KHz.

...and a smaller USB spike at 7300Hz (could cure by disconnecting USB, or by using USB opto-isolator).

The 20KHz spike is showing at about -75db. Over-all, noise-floor is at around -88db.

I could add though, that none of my other kit has this effect.
