|
|
Kronos newbie here wonder about the TIMBER/TRACK Solo function. I have a combi with some internal timbres and some timbers set as EXT2 to control my Integra 7 module. Sometimes I would like to use the solo function to only make the piano on timbre 1 make sound. In this way toggling all other timbres off and on again when I switch of the solo function on timbre 1. I notice that all internal timbers gets muted when I Solo timbre 1 but the EXT2 timbres still transmits. Is it so that the solo function only mute other internal timbres and not those set to EXT2? _________________ Yamaha S90ES, Kronos 2 61, Roland D50, Roland Integra 7, Roland D-05 |

It seems unfortunate that there is no option for Solo to mute midi output of other channels set to EXT or EX2, even when selecting Exclusive Solo.
Of course there is always the popular option to use Karma switching in this clever way.

It even seems to be a bug, since ParamGuide P 429 says (explaining COMBI behavior)
Code: | Timbres that have been silenced by the Mute or Solo
functions will not transmit note-on/off messages on the
MIDI channel assigned for their track when the timbre’s
Status (2–1a) is BTH, EXT, or EX2. |
Experimenting shows that muted timbres do not send NoteOn message (but send NoteOff and CC messages). Solo on/off really seems to do nothing in terms of sending/not sending MIDI .
Strange. _________________ Korg KronosX/Pa4x/M3 • Ableton • Komplete 13 • Omnisphere • soundcloud.com/allandd |

Oh that's unfortunate. Seem to me that this could be a welcome enhancement to the solo feature. Since the hart of the Kronos basically is a linux computer it should not be a difficult thing to implement. I think there should be more users than me that could benefit from this, instead of using the more tricky KARMA-solution. _________________ Yamaha S90ES, Kronos 2 61, Roland D50, Roland Integra 7, Roland D-05 |

Well at least you can still mute the EX2 channel while you solo another one. |
