Hi, as a newbie on the Kronos I have got my hands on quite a few 3rd party sound banks that I've loaded. No issues with this but I experience quite often distortion in the sound when playing. It feels like some sounds are really high gained, so to speak. I connect my Kronos thru a small mixer and set the out put on the mixer in a way that I can have the Kronos main volume knob to about 80% of max and then most of the factory sounds plays at the desired level. But some of the 3rd party sounds are extremely high gained some how and give a much too high volume output. Do I need to tweak some AMP parameter on these 3rd party sounds to align the output volume compared with the factory sounds? And will this also get rid of the distortion??

You can adjust the output volume for each on the MFX page.

Okey, so is it the Master Volume setting down on the right corner in the MFX/TFX tab on the program?

But what about the Amp level in the Amp/EQ tab. How does this relate??

I would start with Fx level first. It’s easy to over eq or over drive certain fx on the program.

For me, I have my overall audio levels set so that I never have to take my Kronos volume up over 50%. I'm running my K2 into a Mackie Mix8 on my pedalboard, which also allows me to run Individual 1/2 into my Vent and into another stereo channel, and then the output of the Mix8 is running into a stereo pair on my Mackie DL32S.

Once I have my Combi's and/or Programs selected or built for each song we're playing, I then go through them one by one via the Setlist and compare the volume level of each, in relation to how loud or quiet they should be relative to the rest of the band, and adjust the Master volume level accordingly so that they are all properly balanced.

As with most things Kronos, there are many ways to accomplish most objectives - this workflow works for me.

I've never come across any third party sounds that actually distort, but certainly I have had sounds that are much louder than others. I can fix them at program level, altering the amp page and possibly the velocity sensitivity and FX settings.
If I'm using them in sequence mode, it's easy enough to correct them by altering the track volume level, EQ settings or the FX settings. I wouldn't alter the Master Volume in sequence mode, because obviously it will reduce the volume of every track in the song, which you probably don't want.

You can also use slider 9 to adjust Master Volume, then press the REC / WRITE button to quickly save.

No screen diving needed this way.
