|
|
In a typical PROGRAM I can control EXi1 and EXi2 individually. For instance I'm using program INT-A 020 Don'tStopBelievin' Piano. Here I can see and control the EXi1 (Mays German D) and EXi2 (DX #5).
If I now copy this PROGRAM into a COMBI I will get the whole program (both EXi1 and EXi2) located on for instance timbre #1.
But now I'm not able to control EXi1 and EXi2 individually. While in PROGRAM mode I can for example control the volumes of the two synth engines individually, but not after the program has been copied to a COMBI.
I'm probably missing something here. Is there anyone that can explain where I should look? |

Select your timbre then choose Edit Program from the dropdown.
This will jump you to edit the program, including individually controlling the volume of each EXi.
Be mindful when saving. You have two options here. A simple save (REC/Write button) will overwrite the original program. To preserve the original, use dropdown Write and choose a new program slot to save into. |

Thanks KingKronos
So when I "copy" a program into a combi, it does not really copy the settings to a given timbre in the combi, it just makes a reference to the original program? |

Correct, you can think of a combi as a container where each timbre is really a pointer to a program slot. I've made the mistake of loading in a program bank that overwrote an occupied bank. Several combis then had the wrong timbres in them because the original program was overwritten.
Thankfully doing monthly backups of everything can save you. |
