Hello Friends,
So my friend asked me about this, but I also have a Kronos too so we wanted to know is there a way to change the note by any chance? Let’s see if I go to global, and then to scale it shows all the way from c1 to c9, is it possible to change it to for example d or g whatever key I want and then edit it? Or do I have to transpose each time?
Thank you! [/i] |

You'll have to transpose to get your user scales to fit into a particular key, either in Global, your Setlists, or on an individual program or combi basis. On the Global scales page, the most you can do is shifting a note up or down by a semitone I think. Useful more microtunings and such, but not for setting an overall key.

I don't quite understand what you're trying to achieve, but this might help.
The global user scales can change each semitone +/- 99 cents.
For the User Octave Scale, you adjust the semitones for notes within one octave. This then repeats exactly the same over all the octaves.... octaves will always be perfectly in tune with each other. You have up to 16 of these, so you can make one for each semitone (12), and still have 4 more leftover.
So you could make one for the key of D and another for the key of G, like you requested in your OP.
The User All Notes Scale lets you adjust every single semitone by +/- 99 cents. That means all 128 different notes can each individually have their own cent adjustment. Octaves don't have to be perfectly in tune. This is how you'd make microtonal scales, like 19-tet or whatever.
But don't underestimate the Scale parameter found in the Program Basic page. Not only can you choose the scale type (Pure Minor, Arabic, Werkmeister, User scales).... but you can also choose the Key! (The Random is good for simulating analog drift, 4 is good, 5 too much).
So select your temperament / scale, and choose a key, then save per program. Unrivaled by any other synth or workstation in this area alone. |

Yeah thanks guys. This is what I wanted. Just, on the pa1000/korg pa4x it’s much easier to achieve this. This should help.
Thanks again! |
