|
|
I'm looking for a way to simplify visually what's going on in my set lists. It's so cluttered to look at on the gig.
If you've got a 16 song Set List window open, is there a way to exclude reference info so that you visually only see the Slot Name and number?

Nope, even though indeed it would have been a nice option to hide the reference info in setlist mode. I guess there is always Homer's check engine black tape option, but it is not very practical once you use other modes. |

Here's a pretty simple solution I worked out.
Works great at gigs, easy to see set list slot names from a distance.
Go to edit the set list slot.
Insert a Comment, but actually make it the one-line song title.
I like to center the title by inserting leading spaces if needed.
Change the font size to super large.
Go back to regular set list mode (non-edit view).
In the top space above all the slots you should see your large title.
Now you will have huge names easy to read on dark stages.
I also color-coded the slots for quick visual cues without reading.
Rose for programs that are orchestral, horns, etc.
Blue for 80s synth pop type stuff.
Dark green for organs.
Maroon for pianos and 70s EPs.
I match the set list song order to our regular gig set and song list.
Usually one or two 16 block of slots is good per band, or set.
My method keeps you at a bird's eye view all the time.
I hardly ever read the tiny slot font info anymore.
Hope that helps. |
