Hi all,
I'm trying to do something but I'm not sure it's possible:
Kronos connected to PC with USB (is now Kronos audio device).
Computer audio plays through main out on Kronos.
Main out connected to mixer.
Microphone connected to mixer.
Main out of mixer connected to line in on computer.
My headphones connected to the headphone jack on the Kronos.
Now when I am using Teams, Zoom or similar I select the following:
Speakers: Kronos (I can hear computer and everyone talking through headphones on Kronos.
Microphone: Line In (mixer with mic and main out of Kronos go there, so when I talk or play the Kronos, it is sent to the other parties).
Problem: when people talk, it goes to the Kronos main out, to mixer, to line in, back to them, so they hear their own voice in an echo.
Question: is it possible to somehow have the USB audio and Kronos internal audio (when playing the keys) play on 1 audio output, and only the Kronos internal audio play on another audio output? So my headphones play both computer audio and Kronos sounds, and the computer only receives the sound from the Kronos?
I tried setting USB to ind. 1/2 and then it plays through audio out 1 and 2. Then when I set the L/R ind. out to 1/2, the Kronos sounds go to 1 and 2 but the USB is somehow not going to 1/2 anymore...
Maybe what I want to do is not possible, or I am missing something obvious? Hope someone can point me in the right direction
Cheers! |

It will be necessary to find some way of routing Zoom / Teams audio to headphones only, e.g. by plugging the headphones into the computer and disconnecting computer Line Out from the Kronos.

You almost got it right with the Indiv Assign on 1/2.
But you need to move your cables in L/R over to aux 1/2.
Kronos main out needs to stay empty.
USB bus select can stay on L/R.
I think this will meet your requirements. |

The cables are already in aux 1/2. So USB is set to output to 1/2. But when I play the Korg it goes through the main out (logically). Now when I set the L/R out to 1/2 out, the Korg sounds are routed to 1/2 but the USB audio is not anymore. I was hoping that in that case the Korg sounds would go to L/R and the Korg sounds + USB would go to 1/2. Then I would plug my headpones into 1/2 and the L/R into the computer and all would be swell... my head starts to hurt |

Haven't had my caffeine yet today.
Might help to draw things out.
Best to see empirically for yourself, for troubleshooting.
This means monitoring audio levels in your DAW / mixer.
Swap the USB settings to see their effects. Write it down.
Ditto for main L/R.
Once you've established your facts, then you can draw things out.
It's a bit like solving those old school logic puzzles =)
There's a solution in there.
I use my ipad as an FX device for the Kronos.
I was getting feedback loops as well.
I ended up using the Indiv Assign (1/2) and empty main outs.
Here's hoping you find the solution. |
