thanks for allowing questions
the huge problems with arrangers , i find , is the monotonous drum beats that rarely change except for the 4 variations allotted. These variations are IMHO monotonous too. Does this Round Robin on drums
add some accent to certain beats to make the drums sound a bit real?
can you explain how the drums/percussion are different in the PA5x

thank you for your time

G

Pa4X DK editor had the option of 8 velocity layers that you can determine levels orientation with particular 8 samples
of the relative velocity of a drumkit part.
But if for instance you strike drum element at same 60 velocity always the same sample plays.

In Pa5X now you have the option to work in cycle 4 different samples at the same velocity , to avoid gun machine
phenomenon , this is briefly of how round robin works in Pa5X DK.

Hope this helps

Only the factory drumkits that their name ends with RR are using the new Round Robin feature...
As Antony explained, the round robin cycles (or randomly , there is an option to set that if you want) between 2 to 4 different samples that sound almost the same (as they are in the same velocity) but as it happens while playing real drums, the sound is a bit different.
That adds to how realistic the kit sounds by a lot if used correctly!
Pa5x has 8 velocity layers and on the samples that have round robin , each of these layers have between 2 and 4 different samples.
Unfortunately there is currently no way for the end user to create custom drumkit with user samples and use the round robin feature ..
Same is for ambience that had been added since pa3x and still there is no way for the end user to make custom sampled kits using ambience.

According to Korg its 4 samples for round robing… making it 4*8 = 32 samples in total
