Ketron is really performing well; I am seriously considering leaving my beloved Pa4X to switch to Event. At least they demonstrate being alive and kicking, and their operating system is already at version 2.0. |

I was/am, seriously thinking of that too,i still have some concerns though:
1)Watching already some users need or having problems with faders, buttons etc, that's not a good sign, though some friends who used or use Ketron products claim that they never had not even one issue .
2) Biggest problem for me is that for every new audio style i need to create, i calculated the recordings i need to make in order to be playable from any key ,and the result is 750minimum to 1350maximum.
That means it needs a lot of time even if i work fast.
So ,only solution is to always use the already made by ketron or create audio styles that are playable from 3 or 4 near keys only.
That could be easy solved if Event could use an algorithm that transpose audio realtime like Pa Series do, or something like build-in Elastik Pitch like software.
Then i would buy it indeed.
Only good thing is that i can tell all these things to a developer friend of mine who works for Ketron.
He is a user too,so he owns not only pa but genos and event es well .
He is always pointing Ketron what users need , and that's a good thing.
I believe we will see many more from Ketron in future because of that, and i believe they are at the right side of history, they just have to continue like that . _________________

Whatever decision you make please do not get rid of your Pa4x, keep it as well as your new machine. Many, many people who bought Pa5x regret selling their Pa4x. It was not a good move.
Good luck. _________________ Pa4X 76

...and now they have released version 3.0.0 of their operating system, with a mountain of bug fixes and new features. It almost seems like the developers at Korg Italy have all moved to work on the new operating system for Ketron Event.
I don't think I'll be letting go of my Pa4X-76 for now, but I'm seriously considering adding a Ketron EVM as soon as it hits the market. |

the Ketron event is missing lots of crucial features.
no EQ for the styles
no event edit
no way to connect to a DAW and hear anything you program via midi in
virtually non existent sampler
no physical fill buttons
no sample compression
no control changes to record directly on the keyboard
chord changes are not instant
the sounds are mediocre at best compared to Korg
sound editing features are missing
no way to delete duplicate midi events besides rerecord
basically from a style and sound designer perspective its a brick _________________ Ari Pearl Music

Your knowledge of Ketron keyboards is impressive. Thank you for sharing it. May I ask if you've had hands-on experience with a Ketron or if your knowledge is based on user manuals and forums? |

I tested everything I said about it on the keyboard itself. The manuals and forums don't really say much. You would think that they would include a basic style editor with event edit by the 3rd OS but no it's still a bust. _________________ Ari Pearl Music
