|
|
Hi,
Now that I've managed to get MIDI working...
Is there a way to program the Matrix on the PA5X to switch VSTs in Logic Pro X (well, just changing tracks setup already in Logic Pro ...)
The idea is to have 5 or 6 tracks setup in Logic Pro and use the Matrix pad on the PA5X to activate or mute any one or all of the Logic Pro tracks, thus allowing me to do a mix of native sounds from the PA5X or pull in VSTs from Logic in real time without having to fiddle around with the mouse...
Thanks in advance

no, not possible
If you want this, just get a midi controller to do this, a good controller is the midi fighter twister, I use that one too, and you can do this and a lot more with a very small controller. |

Thanks Qui ... it's pretty much what I thought, but wasn't sure.
I have a friend who can switch VSTs via MIDI from his Roland Fantom 8 so it basically behaves as if the sounds are built-in, but oh well.
I'm actually trying to REDUCE the number of pieces equipment in my setup ... and already with 15 pedals/footswitches ... and hundreds of pretty flashing light buttons on the PA5X and the RC505 to play with ... trying to avoid "Starship Enterprise" vibes .. .LOL

P/S: Ahh... the MIDI Fighter Twister -- that's the one that Colleen Dauncey uses in her setup on stream.. (though hers looks like a box of candy with the colours) _________________ Keyboards: Korg PA5X-88, Kawai ES8 | Loopstation Boss RC505mk2 | Boss FS-6 | Nektar Pacer | Multitrack Recording: Tascam 2488 | Software: OBS Studio, Loopback, Logic Pro X, Mainstage3 |

I also use a lot of midi controllers in my studio, but the midi fighter twister is so small and you have 16 dials, which you can turn, push and turn with the push on, which gives you:
32 dial controllers to map (16 * 2)
16 push controllers to map
And this is per scene, you can also switch scenes on the twister, so the amount of control destinations is a lot.
you can give it any color or ring behavior based on your script or on the internal programming with the app. |

Qui -
I would love to get your insight into a related question I just posted on this forum a little earlier today:
http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=130371
It'd be great if you could give even a brief response there!
Incidentally, I first searched on your YouTube channel to see if you had already posted a video that might have answered my simple questions. I've been avidly viewing a number of your truly excellent content there to learn more about the PA5X.
Regards,
