Hi Guys.

Regarding my suggestion to kick off a large scale / joint effort sound design project. I was thinking, there’s technically nothing stopping us from starting all this right now if you wanted to.

Yeah, I won’t be able to take part in the actual creation of Programs, but I can still prepare all the sample data for the entire project. I could supply the data as sets of 96MB each, which you guys simply load in order while appending the data. I assume the OASYS can do that since the Triton Studio can ?.

So, what do you think ?. Should we start making plans ?.

Regards.
Sharp.

Refill ?!?! Have Korg merged with Propellerhead again ? Wink

But seriously ... sounds interesting. Where can I can get the 96MB of KSF data ?

Smile Yeah, should all be finalised on the 1st of April 07. Seriously though, I don’t know where I came up with the name. Just sounded kind of appropriate at the time.

I would actually have to make it up. I would like to go back to the source files I still have from all the projects I released over the years, reloop all that and then start assembling it in blocks of 96MB each for you guys to start working on.

I’ve freely release well over 300MB of my own samples over the years. So, we certainly have plenty to work with. There's also plenty of other data to add to all that which is copyright free. Remember the CD Pools Smile. I have all the orignal unconverted data.

So basically all I need to know is if we are going to go ahead with all this now. If so, I’ll start looping and assembling all the multisounds. Then it's up to whoever is taking part in this to start using the data and creating programs.

Regards.
Sharp.

When they become available, all you need to do is load them using the append option in the order I label them. Once done, you can start working on the Prog sounds.

I will be able to help you out over the summer.

Can you have the files ready for June/July?

Yes, all going well I should be finished.

I also hope a few more people get involved. It’s not going to be much of a joint community effort if there’s only 4 of us working on all this. I would have hoped that we could have created more than just a single bank of sounds. Especially considering I’m hoping to give you guys more than 128 Multisounds to work with.

Regards.

How about a list of the kinds of sounds people would like? I program much better when I have a direction to go in.

Can you start a thread for program requests?

I tend to get caught up in the billions of options available.

I think I'd be up for this as well,I'm not an experienced programmer at all so it would be a good opportunity for me to get to grips with that side of things to be fair, think this may be a good learning curve for me.Time is another factor though, I dont know how many patches I could do to be fair but its another pair of hands, I'll give it a shot.

i'd like to ditto thekeymaster's reply verbatim. duke's also.

it sounds like a nifty project. i'm a noob at the programming, but do spend hours a day working at it, so, don't know if that level is a help or the opposite, but the idea sounds energizing.

Hi Guys.

I’d say that if you have the interest, then what better way to get to know your OASYS then. You don’t need to be an expert programmer. So long as it brings OASYS owners together and making new sounds. Then I would consider it a success.

There’s also help available here. If you get stuck, I’m sure one of the other OASYS owners would be more than happy to answer a few questions. I’m sure I could be of help in some way regarding the programming too. While I don’t have an OASYS, I have been programming KORG workstations all my life so I’m sure I’m not all useless here Smile

Kind Regards.
Sharp.
