The fact that I (and many more with me) wished for FM synthesis for a while makes Korgs release of the MOD-7 even greater. I know, it can do a lot more than FM, and I love it! Very Happy Very Happy

But, I'm curious about how the process goes. Who at Korg decides "We're making a FM EXi!!" Is it based on what goes on in this forum, or is it a part of a bigger plan?.. Did they line up the synthesis methods from the Oasys PCI and say: Ok, this time we'll take the VPM thingie, and make it ten times more powerful? I mean, a lot of what we have is in some way derived (and expanded) from the PCI card.

Sure, I'm not expecting any answers from Korg here, as this probably borders on company secrets, right?.. I'm asking out of curiosity..

I think they consulted with the Magic 8 Ball...

Most likely part of a bigger plan, but Korg have historically taken feedback from forumites and other owners, and folded it into their plans from what I've experienced. So keep the comments and suggestions flowing Smile

All kidding aside, I have to agree with Daz. While not everything we suggest or gripe about gets addressed with every update or new product, Korg does take our input seriously.

It's nice to hear that the fellas at Korg listen to their users, as you know, this is not the case with every manufacturer of fine electronic instruments...

But admit it: you'd all love to sit in on one of those meetings, listening to pros and cons of future upgrades, observing dedicated professionals discussing the piece of gear we love the most!!! And of course, Ski doing his push ups.. Wink

Absolutely ! I would find that fascinating. Not only to hear about where the Oasys is going but to get a glimpse of where they are taking all these technologies in the future.

Well, speaking of the future: seems the MOD-7 would lend itself nicely for a hardware synth... Very Happy
