Hello M3ers,

I am interested in the M3, karma 2, together with my 2 hardware sequencers would give a real "midi carnaval".
however is the soundset of the M3 capable for convincing synth. sounds?
to give you an idea of my music, here a link

I already own a radias rack and a MS2000b.
+ a lot other synties.

errr....i don't think korg (even radias) is very good for old-fashioned electronic music. m3/radias sounds rather too futuristic to sound old-school.

if you dig old school synth music, i would definitely recommend yamaha motif xs or the roland sh101 (monotimbral) synths.

M3 is great for any electro music - old school, techno, etc. With a 73 key version, you can attach your RADIAS as well. In addition, you can add a RADIAS EXB and drop those sounds into a Karma-fied combi. Finally, with Karma 2 onboard, you have a ton of features to modify, alter, edit on the fly. I wouldn't recommend the Motif XS over the M3.

I agree, I wouldn't recommend the Motif XS over the M3.

But I would recommend the M3 over the XS in your rig setup.
Very Happy

reason why I want a m3 is the karma 2, no motif for me (I had the classic motif)

dude, you got an an1x...that has a much better old school sound than radias/m3. you could squeeze some old school stuff out of korg, but korgs are known for futuristic...MMT synthesis will give you some high-end ultramodern sounds for modern dance music production...

the radias can, after some tweaks, be fat like the an1x but with a different character.
it is all about rotating those knobs, that is why I ask the question about the M3.
(maybe I buy one Very Happy )

I hope the M3 is midi clock driven? (in and out?)

Absolutely, the M3 can be synced to external MIDI clock or be a MIDI clock source for your other gear. Same kind of deal as the Radias with Internal/External/Auto modes.

von haulshoven: The music I hear in your video is Minimal Ambient Electronica, I bet the M3 can do that though no problems...
