Out of curiosity -
Why has there been no mention of OASYS 1.3 on Harmony Central News, Sound on Sound news, among other web sites?

Well, maybe I could do a little bit of IT-review-promotion
http://it-review.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1755&Itemid=107
Why there's no announcement on other websites? Beats me... _________________ Check out http://it-review.net. Reviews and news - hardware, software and musical instruments.

My impression is that, with announcements such as this, they generally simply re-publish the press releases sent to them. My guess is that press releases will be sent out when 1.3 ships, but that sort of thing is handled outside of R&D.

Hi Kevin,
Actually, Mark started a thread over at Harmony Central. Believe it or not, it's been getting mostly favorable responses. I think many of HC's OASYS bashers are kind of dumb struck. Here's the link http://acapella.harmony-central.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1747372
Cheers,

Yes - but there hasn't been general advertisement of the release, from what I can see. Perhaps as Dan said - when it's actually released? Although with slightly different release dates of 1.3.Mod7/Karma 2.1 and EXs3 and KO, the impact will be weakened. Overall, this is the biggest release since OASYS, and warrants a coordinated advertisement campaign to strengthen the case for OASYS, IMO.

How does it work with the release date?
Will the update be available 1 October at 00:01 on the Korg User Net page? Is that US time?.. _________________ Paul: Don't be nervous.

Nervous?!! Who, me?!! NO NO, NOT AT ALL!!!
Seriously though, for the first time since I got my Oasys, I've been able to REALLY explore the depths of this machine, and I am completely stunned. I can't imagine what it will be like when the MOD-7 finds its way into my Oasys...
I have a major problem with sleeping, and talking about stuff that is not related to the Oasys.
My wife looks at me with the empathy of a mother trying to explain to her child that Christmas WILL arrive: "you just have to be patient." _________________ Paul: Don't be nervous.

You guys don't know what you're missing
The MOD-7 will really add a whole new sonic palette to your Oasys. If you like to create your own sounds it's a very creative tool indeed, synth programming heaven. However If you don't, there 128 official presets, plus another 256 presets in two "service banks" and a plethora of DX7 sounds to be imported from the net. The "service banks" are the programs that were candidates for the main preset bank and Korg have stated that they are not as polished and don't have all the usual controller assignments that the official preset material normally has. They are still extremely cool and I wish some of my programming came out as half as well as some of their unpolished material
Not to mention the small matter of Karma Oasys ...
